Car Washes
After our slushy weather cars in my area were filthy from the snow/salt/dirt melting.
I waited in line for 30 minutes to have my car washed. Two attendants were working that scrub the cars before they go into the automatic wash. I had been there before and appreciated this service and thought they would be worth the wait. Just before it was my turn to have my car scrubbed before going in to the automatic wash, someone came by and brought the attendants pizza. I understand they need to eat, but instead of taking the same kind of time that they were taking on the other cars, they would rush into the office and stuff their mouths and come back and quickly scrub my car before returning for a few more bites.
I went through the automatic wash then went to fill my car with gas at the station next door. That's when I noticed that my back window was still filthy. I went to get washer at the gas station to wash my back window. When I got to the back of my RAV4 it looked like it had not been washed at all. It was filthy.
After I filled up with gas I went immediately back to the carwash and showed the attendant. I could easily wipe a path through the dirt with my finger. He told me to go to the coin wash bay and he would wash it. He re-scrubbed and rinsed off my car.
I left and ran an errand and could see my car better in the sun. My car looked like it might have been washed a week ago not a few minutes ago. It was still dirty--everywhere. The windows the lower part below the door guards was filthy--looked like it wasn't touched.
I suspect that problem lies in a few areas. 1) The attendants rushed through the pre-scrub being distracted with eating lunch 2) The attendants were not changing the water in the buckets enough and were spreading more dirt around rather than cleaning 3) The automatic touch-less car wash is plain terrible. Even if the attendants were not doing the best job why was the automatic car wash so bad?
I can go other places and get my car washed cheaper and use free vacuums. I will not be returning to Sunshine let alone wait 30 minutes in line only to still have a dirty car.
