The sale of the flooring went ok and they came out to measure. Then tried to get a conformation from installer on date. No return calls after many voice mails left. Later I get call on why we have not picked up flooring and I told them that I did not have a conformation on the install date. Hired someone to go get flooring at the last min or our install would have been delayed for 2 months. Also when I complained that I never received a return call they told me I could pick someone else again delaying the install two months. Lumber liquidators subs out their installs so you wont be dealing direct with them. The day the install was done they wanted to lay the floor the wrong way to make it more simple for them, but did agree to install they way we wanted. I had a contractor working with me on the property and he told them to fix a number of items, such as the flooring not going all the way to the wall. They filled in a number of places with putty to hide it. The main issues however is that they did not order enough transitions that go between rooms and this has caused numerous issues.
Currently we have cracks in the flooring. Wide gaps, etc., and still no transitions. After a number of weeks we were told that the install company had gone out of business. Since the install company will not do the work I started calling anyone that would answer the phone at Lumber Liquidators.
I have talked to persons at the store and left numerous messages for the store manager and have NEVER been called back to get the floor repaired.
I have spoken to the people at their corporate headquarters in Virginia and they promise the moon but never deliver.
I am now having to hire my contractor to go get the needed transitions and install them along with numerous issues with the floor.
DO NOT USE LUMBER LIQUIDATORS EVER!
Contractor came out and looked at the floors and agreed that there were problems. Contractor ended up coming and ripping up entire floors and completing the whole process again. Second time around, I will say that they are much better, however, you now can walk and feel the bumps of concrete that are higher in the spots that were too low to begin with.
Although the floors are beautiful, the installation is very subpar! It is sad that you pay that much money and get that type of service. But, the contractor did try to make it right and do good.
I do want to say that in this whole process that Bradley (Installation Manager) NEVER followed up with us or came to see if it was done correctly, etc. I think that speaks volumes of his character and what type of job he will produce in the future for LL. Just saying!
I also gave a score of "C" on professionalism because the contractor came out and tried to make it right. I appreciated that and want to acknowledge that. However, not that it was completed right.
I am saddened that you save and save to upgrade and you get this quality from a national chain such as LL.
