Gem Dirt LLC

I purchased the garden mix that supposedly did not require any additional nutrients for a raised garden. This is the worst dirt. I had to go buy bags of dirt to add to it. All my vegetable plants were dying. I had purchased dirt from a company on 41st and Mingo for last years raised garden and the plants I put in it are thriving just like they did last year. I will never purchase Gem Dirt again unless I am filling holes in my yard. The picture with the pitiful vegetables is Gem Dirt the one with healthy soil is what I purchased from the place at 41st and Mingo. The difference is sickening.

Picked up a truckload of “garden mix” which turned out to be clay and probably roadkill and butcher scraps. Smelled horrid, choked out every plant I stuck in it. Waste of time and a lot of money.

The product I purchased advertised as rich in nutrients and needing no additives was lacking nitrogen according to the OSU Extension Lab. Plants did not thrive; seeds did not sprout. Seeds that gave it their all to begin life never grew past a couple of inches. A hard crust developed. The owner has stood his ground that the customer is wrong. Poor quality product that is not true to its description and poor customer relations.

The gentleman who took my order on the phone was very helpful, kind and patient with me, especially since I had never ordered dirt before. He explained things well and really put me at ease. The driver arrived on time and was very friendly and happy and seemed to really like his job. He also was especially careful to dump the dirt in a place that was perfect for me but required him to maneuver his truck carefully in a small area between my garage and a tree. He also offered to moved some things that were in the way and when rain started pouring down he suggested that I take cover on the patio area while he moved the sprinkler, hose, etc. He also drove the truck carefully so as not to cause too much damage to the now soaked lawn. He was kind and considered and quite the gentleman. I will definitely use them again and I highly recommend Gem Dirt.

They got here quickly after we ordered and were here the nest day. They were very helpful about where they located it to get as close as possible to the area where it was needed and they did a good job. Their prices seemed to be the best.
