CHEYENNE WOODWORKS

We had some bookcases built when we originally moved into our home. We had a vision of what we wanted them to look like, but two cabinet makers said it could not be done. The focal point was an irregular stone fireplace with a stone mantel piece that was too narrow for anything to be placed on. They both recommended two free standing simple bookcases with a cabinet at the base to be placed on either side of the fireplace. A small window remained above the top of each bookcase. A faux beam was placed over the mantel piece so it could be used. The result was something that looked unfinished. We never liked them. We regretted having them made. Finally, we decided that we could not look at them anymore. David came and looked at what had been built. He listened to what we envisioned. He made a mock up of something that he thought would work. He also gave us several options on the stain color on wood pieces that he brought to the house for us to look at in our lighting. We came to his workshop and picked out an old beam that became the new mantel, after tearing out the rock ledge that was intended to be a mantel. He crafted beautiful book cases with posts that extend over the edge of the fireplace, so that it looks original to the house. The two windows are beautifully incorporated into the design. The result is truly stunning. It makes our den complete. We found David through a designer, so I am sure the price is probably more than what it would have been if we had hired him directly.David is a true craftsman. He was prompt, polite, and knowledgeable. His workshop was amazing. The people who worked for him were all first rate. And, he is a good guy! At the end of each day, everything was cleaned up and put away so that it did not interfere with our lives.You will not regret trusting David with your wood working needs. I wish we had known about him years ago!
