Bray Appliance Repair

Pros: The service tech, Casey (I think), was kind and punctual. Issue with my oven appears to be resolved. Cons: Wildly expensive... $484 to replace Thermador oven igniter. Even with OEM part being $100, not sure why than 1hr labor should be $384. Other local providers are more transparent than this company. Would suggest they state their service call fees upfront so consumers can make an educated decision on who to use.

A relay was replaced and the compressor was working normally again. The reason I gave it an F review was that he charged me $263 for less than 30 minutes of work and used a generic part that can be bought for less than $20 on Amazon. Not good experience!

Our story began when Jerry Bray from Bray Appliance Repair came out late November and decided the problem with our Kenmore refrigerator’s ice maker was the infrared sensor control board. He brought and installed it on a second trip, we paid $301.60, and he said it would start cycling ice the next day. After Thanksgiving, we called back to say the machine had never started working. We called multiple times and left several messages over a week and when he never responded we decided he was resisting us passively and wanted nothing more to do with the project. Several weeks later, we called Appliance Doctor who dispatched Raymond and he solved the problem. His first visit he investigated, took the ice maker apart, pulled the refrigerator from the wall, found a pipe frozen, and suggested we should start by replacing a part of the water system at the back of the refrigerator. The next day he installed the new part, reassembled the ice maker, we paid $200, and he said the ice will start soon, if not call me. The next day the ice hadn’t started so we called and he came out and looked and thought we should get a new ice maker. The following day the thing resumed making ice so we called off the new ice maker and it’s worked ever since. Grades, Bray Appliance Repair, D, Appliance Doctor A Both were present and courteous, one of them dropped off and the other finished.

Excellent Response, Fast Repair, Exact diagnostic of problem.  Frig back up and running 30 minutes.  Would recomment them for future service.

Bray Appliance Service analyzed and figured it was the Ice Machine and not another problem while I watched and took notes.
Jerry explained in detail the different problems it could be and checked each one.
It came down that the Ice Machine malfunctioned. They called a supplier and had  a new one out at my home in about 30 minutes.
I originally contacted via Angie's List email another vendor with a long list of A ratings. They informed me that they did not work on LG's.
Bay Appliance knew what they were doing, as I watched. I was very please and will call them for any repairs I need for appliances in the future.

He called before appointment time to let me know he was running early if my schedule  allowed.   Fixed the repair which took a special fitting the plumber I had hired earlier did not have.   He then checked the inside to make sure everything else looked like it was working right.   The cut in the line was caused by a bad design in the compressor cover which has a sharp edge that rubs 3 tubing lines.   He bent the cover out in that spot, with my permission, and put duct tape on it to protect the tubes from the sharp metal.  Very quick and efficient.

I called Bray Appliance when my under the counter ice maker quit making ice. He came to my house the same day that I called. He knew right away that the water valve needed to be replaced, and he had it fixed in no time! I was very impressed with how the process went. I was extremely pleased that the price was so affordable.

They came to my house when they said they would be there. I was able to have an appointment for the same day I called. He was very fast to diagnose the problem and make the repair right then. He was very friendly and professional. I will use them again and refer them to anyone I know need appliance repair services.
