B and L has been servicing and repairing HVAC systems in my home for many years. The new high efficiency unit installed a few weeks ago works very well. The interior temperature is comfortable and consistent, which was not the case with our old system. It took two days to install the new system because new vent pipe had to be inserted through the roof. Chris and Lane came on time, knew what they were doing and were careful to protect wood floors from damage. They left no mess at all. I'm very pleased, as I always have been, with their work.

"The customer's heating unit is a heat pump. The expansion valve failed. We ordered the factory replacement, installed the part, and added refrigerant. To replace an expansion valve is time consuming as you are cutting into the sealed refrigerant system. Refrigerant has to be removed, the system evacuated and recharged. Three hours is not excessive for this process. The technician made 2 trips to the residence because the part had to be ordered. The job was expensive but not out of line for the work that was done."

Tech was on time and thorough, but he didn't answer my questions with specificity (a/c system was "old," but he wouldn't say how old). He couldn't tell me the rate for his work and said the company would bill me. I'd forgotten to ask for the rate when making the appointment. It was a little disconcerting to wait for the bill to find out how much it would cost, which is the reason for the "B" rating on responsiveness and overall.

The repairman was friendly and competent. He recommended some work that would need to be done in the future and I had some other items that I wanted to change. He promised he would get Band L to quote all of the items. A month later I called them to remind them I wanted the quote. They said they would get back to me. Haven't heard from them since.

Fine, had to postpone appointment several times due to not being above 70 degrees in earlier months on day scheduled. Have to have that for a/c checks in HVAC units.

Overall, it was one of the most positive experiences in the building process. Kyle was very informative and knowledgeable about their products and made some recommendations on the best systems for what we were looking for.
Band L was very informative of what was going to happen and when throughout the entire process. They were on time, friendly, clean, and were very careful around other construction materials and products in the house during construction. We found they were VERY tidy on the jobsite and didn't leave a mess. Little did we realize this was NOT the norm for construction trades people! We were most impressed with the quality of work. Always striving to install the best products available, we received new valves and controls for our radiant flooring that are more reliable than previous versions.
We were so pleased with the work Kyle and his team of installers did that we won't look elsewhere for any of our HVAC needs.

The entire experience was excellent. The estimate appointment was prompt and the provider was very knowledgeable about the subject. The project itself cost exactly the estimate, which was the middle of 3 estimates that I had obtained. Installation took 3 people most of 2 days and was very technically challenging (with moving the furnace and ducts up to the attic), but there were no complaints from any of the workers. Once finished they went through the operation and programming of the thermostat very carefully, showed me how to change the filters, and cleaned up thoroughly after themselves. When I had a problem with the furnace (still under warranty) they came out and fixed it immediately on a weekend. I will definitely call B&L again for my next HVAC need; they did a great job.
