I I have given this review to Angies List before but as they are asking for another, I will repeat it.  How'd It Go?? Terrible?!!

This man spent more time on the phone and smoking than actually working.  Tiles have not stayed secure.  Several have fallen off the counter top and cracked/split tiles on the floor.  Did not apply mortar correctly to the floor tiles as they were not solid and had air pockets, therefore broke.  One tile was upside down (obvious), left open hole behind stool, reinstalled old rusty ring around service pipe, grout too dry, began cracking almost immediately.  He did come back out and attempted to repair obvious issues but, overall, still very poor and unsatisfactory job.

The work done for me by Rhein Remodeling was good. I was pleased with his work. There were a few little things that he told me he was going to come back and finish, but he didn't. The little things that he left were things that he didn't think needed to be done. For example, I had hardwood doors in my dining area, and instead the strip he needed there when he did the kitchen, he got another strip from the store and they don't match. He told me he'd come back to fix them, but he never showed up. I like him, but I don't like when people tell me one thing and do something else. I paid him promptly and acted nice about fixing the strip that didn't match. I like the service that he did for me but not the fact that he lied to me after I had already paid and said he would come back to fix it. That left a bitter taste in my mouth. I would not use him in the future. Since he lied to me about something so simple, I don't know what he would do if a bigger issue came up. I wouldn't recommend him to anybody. Truthfulness means everything to me.

His finish work had much to be desired. Never seen floor tile put down the way they did, and I am finding tiles that are now broken and will have to replace them. It was suggested that we inlaid some decorative tile but he did not know how to bring them up to the height of the tiles. If he used licensed plumbers and electricians like his bio stated, I never saw them. When he installed the bathroom he had to come back because he did not vent the plumbing system correctly. This is plumbing 101 and I was really bothered by this as he said he had been doing this for 30 years.

It went pretty good. He did not do a few things but overall it was A-, he did not finish the trim on the carport. The shelving went well. He was punctual, here when he said, left when he said and finished up pretty quickly. He is very knowledgable and has a helper. The price was reasonable. He was opened to ideas and did some things I did not know he would do which was nice. He is easy to talk to.

Had written agreement of work to be done. Work was completed but workmanship was very poor. One of the exterior walls was not fastented to any wood, but was nailed into the foam insulation. The work allowed the wind to blow through the cracks that had not been correctly sealed. The interior surface was completed to the first level of taping. We had to hire another contractor to redo much of the work. The door way was not completed, and the contractor came out to finish it. He cut a piect of base molding in half and nailed it in. It looks deplorable. Certainly not done to workmanship quality. Experience was disappointing since the company was highly rated with Angie's list.

The price seemed fair at the time. We had purchased all materials, tiles, plumbing fixtures, vents, thin set, grout etc.
However the quality of the work was poor.
wood work was dented, shower tiles spaced anywhere from 1/4and quot; to over 1 inch apart ,floor tiles not level with one another, floor tiles not on solid subfloor, shower leaked behind wall (had to hire plumber to repair), roof leaked after vent/heater/light installation (had to hire a roofer to repair), toilet, which we purchased, had 12and quot; roughin. we didn't realize the actual rough in was 10and quot;. Mr. Rhein installed the toilet so the tank leaned forward because there was not room for a 12and quot;. He should have suggested an extender or that we buy a 10and quot; roughin toilet. We discovered the problem and WE removed and returned toilet and WE replaced with the proper toilet.
When we first notified Mr. Rhein that we had chosen him to work for us, it took him two weeks after he had given an estimate to call us. At that time we were looking at hiring someone else., We gave him the benefit of the doubt and he and his assistant showed up everyday promptly for two weeks and worked steadily for about 4 1/2 to 5 hours a day. We had a scheduled trip, so it was agreed by both parties that Mr. Rhein would resume work 2 or 3 days after we returned. We called and left messages twice to to let him know we had returned. He responded two weeks later to let us know that he was ready to come back and finish the job. At that time we told him we didn't want him to return. We hired someone to finish the tile work. The new shower door Mr. Rhein installed was not anchored to the wall. We hired someone to install it correctly. We hired a plumber and a roofer to correct his mistakes. The new door he intalled did not hang plumb and WE spent some time getting it adjusted until it was acceptable. WE did 90% of the work preparing the walls ..
When removing the tile they used tools to pound and break the tiles off of the floor and wall. There was no attempt to prevent the large amounts of dust from entering the rest of the house. We closed the bathroom door and opened the bathroom window while they worked,
There had been no attempt to protect the tub, ceramic pieces and grime were ground into the tub, dulling the tub surface. etc.etc.etc.

Richard met with us and visited the project location two times prior to reaching agreement for the work. His price is reasonable for the amount of work needed to be accomplished. We got a hand written value with all steps of the work described for the work, this was helpful for the home owner who is in their 80's and the plan needed to be fully understood. He was courtious thru the whole process and worked as long as there was productive work daily. He finished the bathroom rebuild on schedule.loor and shower entry area

Initial demo work went well. Would have preferred complete shower demo. but did not know option for this. Went with Richard's suggested preference which left original wall backing which then required shower to be fitted to it rather than replacing with water board and having better fitting shower stall. Tile work was not done well. Required return and repair work as grouting was cracked, hole left behind stool, tiles were uneven on vanity, Just was very and quot;roughand quot; for a and quot;professionaland quot;. Richard came back and repaired and redid some grout work, replaced some uneven tile, filled hole and missed spaces. The vanity backsplash was not finished on ends, left rough edges. No mitered edge on vanity side, so tile is coming loose again. Pretty sad to have to see this everyday and know how it should look. Grouting is cracking again. Shower plumbing was loose and had to be tightened (finished). Faucet needs to be straightened as it is uneven. Question his eye for detail. I read the other reviews and wonder who that person is that did their work. Called him because of Angie's List referrals. I really think he just got in a hurry to finish and threw it together. That is what it looked like.

That was the only one that was approved by my dad. He came in and looked at the problem and he started looking for the cause and found the cause and told us what he could do to correct it and gave us the bid for the problem, so we used him. And he was very professional. He was excellent all the way round. He showed up on time. He called up on time when he said he was going to. He got the bid prepared and got everything that he said he would do and at the time frame that he was going to do. He came in with his shoes off making sure he wasn't tracking anything in. I was very impressed with him. I have no hesitation recommending him. More importantly my 89 year old father who is the most particular person in the world will have no problem recommending him.

He started about a week later than originally promised but once he got going it was fine. He provided a simple contract and did everything he said he would. He and his helper showed up on time every morning and worked steadily until mid-afternoon. a couple of small mistakes in the tile work were immediately and cheerfully fixed when I pointed them out and he adapted to a few changes in our original plan, e.g. changing the layout of the floor tile from straight to diagonal, without hesitation or complaint. We really didn't have any problems worth mentioning and he finished a day ahead of schedule so we were able to use the bathroom in time for our christmas gatherings.

He was fantastic. He came at 8:30 in the morning. He was on time. He was there for five or six hours straight with his helper. They cleaned up when they left. They came and it took them four days to do the floor. I liked that they were pleasant. They cleaned up after themselves, which is another thing that was amazing. I called him back because some of the woods were separating from the wall. He came and put that part of the floor and a new floor there. My neighbors fell in love with him. I would absolutely use him in the future.

Richard came out to give us an estimate on a master bath remodel in a 30 year old house. The demo had already been done and we needed him to tile the floors, shower stall and bottom half of the walls, add a glass door to the shower, add a vanity, top and sink, custom build a linen cabinet and do some dry wall repair. He got his estimate back to us the next day (the estimate was very fair) and started work the following week. He was very organized and provided us with a contract outlining the extent of the work, the payment agreement and also provided us with copies of his insurance and license information. He arrived on time every day, was pleasant and professional, and finished the job on time and on budget. I wish we had found Richard years ago! I would recommend him to friends and family.

This experience actually exceeded my expectations. I had a grand scheme in mind for remodeling my laundry room to accommodate an ironing board being up 24/7. My idea included eliminating a partial cabinet, installing tile to match the existing floor, and mounting additional storage cabinets on the wall to replace the space lost from the floor cabinet. When I called Mr. Rhein we were able to set up an appointment for the same day for an estimate. When he arrived and I explained my ideas, I must first say that his estimate for the work I originally wanted done was extremely reasonable. Then he made a few suggestions of his own, such as a cabinet wall mounted ironing board that would eliminate the need for the extensive tear down that I originally thought I needed. Since I wasn't wild about the cabinet ironing systems available locally, I decided to search the web and told him I'd give him a call if I found something that would work. I was able to find a system that worked perfectly for me and he returned to install it when it arrived about a week later, along with some additional wire shelves, at a cost substantially less than the original plan. He arrived, set immediately to work and was finished in a couple of hours. All in all, I was much happier in the end, and I appreciated his honesty and tactfulness in doing the right thing to make his customer happy, while also keeping the cost reasonable.

Mr. Rhein was on time as he said he would. Stated I will see you at 8:00 in a.m. and he followed through every time. What ever time he stated he would be here he would show at that time. Very pleasant to work with, he presented a contract and followed through as written. He asked for payment only after certain items were completed. I am pleased with the worked he has done. He communicates well made it clear that I should point out things I am not pleased about. I am planning to call him for future projects. My sister has already asked him to do work for her since she has seen what he has done here. I would highly recommended Mr. Rhein to any one. He is professional, courteous, pleasant sincere and I give him an A+

Richard was always agreeable to listen to any concerns or questions I had. Dependable on showing up and was great in understanding the chaos of having to live out of boxes packed up in 3 basic rooms...kitchen and baths. Richard had no problem with me doing what I could do during this remodel job. I purchased all major materials and he picked up, if too large an item. Cleaned up all trash and disposed of at end of job. Reasonable pricing. So if you need someone to do remodeling, home repair or renovation, give Rhein Remodeling a call. Richard has had 30 years experience and does quality work and is trustworthy.
