Real Estate Auctions
The auction started at 10 AM and the guns sold first. We had no problem with that. The furniture sold next and that too went well. By then it was close to 11:00 and beginning to get hot. I had some really nice glassware and antiques which the auctioneer lumped together into lots of 4 boxes and sold for $10.00. Some of the items in these boxes could easily have sold for $40 individually, but because he was getting tired and hot he practically gave them away. I had been to a lot of his previous auctions where he spent all the time necessary to get a fair price. Overall we did well with this auction but we could have made a great deal more if he hadn't been in such a hurry to get out of the sun and into the shade. I think he should have started the auction earlier in the day to avoid some of the heat.
