They are very expensive and pushy about teeth cleaning. Yes, I know it needs to be done but I have 4 dogs! We buy our heartworm medicine online but it requires a scrip from SAHO.We had to go through hoops to get the scrip from SAHO. We will not use any more.

The veterinarian actually spent quite a bit of time with me, explaining to me about her teeth. And then they kept the pet for the doctors check up, so I had to drop the dog and pick them up. My pet has actually spent a lot of time with me and is not used to being alone.

I had just relocated to the area and my 10 year old dog had cancer of the mammary glands so I was looking for a new vet. Her mobility had gotten worse and I was very concerned about her being in pain. I saw Dr. Metcalf, on a Sunday, who told me the type of cancer my dog has was not painful but she thought she might be suffering from arthritis and should be on an anti-inflammatory medication. The doctor put her on Rymodil. By the following Wednesday my dog was worse so I called SAHO in the morning. I got a recorded message saying the vets office was closed for training and to leave a message which I did. Two hours later I got a call back and explained that my dog was getting worse and I needed to get her in to see the vet. I was told that Dr. Metcalf was out of the office and wouldn't be back until Friday but she could be emailed so they would pass the information on to her and someone would call me back. By Thursday I had heard nothing from SAHO so I contacted Family Animal Medicine. They got me in to see Dr. Nobles immediately. Dr. Nobles told me the cancer had spread to my dogs stomach and I needed to stop giving her the Rymodil because it is a stomach irritant and was only making her worse. I was given nausea medicine for her and a prescription for morphine because Dr. Nobles said my dog was definitely in pain. In spite of this by the next day my dog had stopped eating and drinking and was in too much pain to be moved. I called Family Animal medicine and Dr. Nobles responded to my home to put my dog to sleep. At 6:30 PM that evening I finally received a phone call from Dr. Metcalf at SAHO asking me what was up with my dog. I told her she was dead and I would never use their services again.
When I had my dog at SAHO they were very nice but I think their treatment was inappropriate and incompetent and actually made my dogs condition worse. Knowing my dogs condition and not have someone call me back for over two days is inexcusable.

I think they are mostly overpriced. I did not really like a whole lot about them; they were just kind of mediocre to me. Mostly they just kind of run you around the bushes, they do not know what to do. They were business people. I was not really impressed a whole lot about them. They were not very clean either and they were kind of slow.

My cat was very sick and Dr. Spriggs is very good about explaining about what you need to do about your cat for home health care and he took good care of my cat and he prices were fair. My cat was hospitalized in the overnight animal hospital.

We were there about 3 times. They were excellent.

When I moved here a few months ago and was in need of a vet, I went to this establishment. During the first visit, when I informed them I needed more flea and tick medicine, they asked what I had been using. Told them K9 Advantix II. They recommended something else that they said would work as well or better, but that would also take care of heartworm prevention, all in one pill rather than having to give two pills (for fleas/ticks and heartworm prevention). Not knowing what questions to ask, I trusted that they knew what they were doing. Apparently not...my dog got ticks. I have never seen a tick in my life, didn't even know what they looked like, until now. After changing to the pill they suggested, my dog started getting ticks. I asked them if the pills they had given me covered fleas and ticks. They said and quot;not ticksand quot;. Why would a vet take your pet off of tick medication and recommend something else that doesn't include the coverage you were getting, without telling you about it? Blows me away.

Another concern I have about this establishment is that when you take your pet into their examining room, they have little yarn quilts on the examining tables. They don't appear to be very sterile. Dog/cat hair on them (they could possibily even be harboring fleas or ticks). I've only been to a couple of other vets during the past 10 years of being a pet owner, and all the others I have been to have nice clean sterile metal tables that they clean before/after each pet.

Was great, was easy to call and arrange. Just need to bring proof of shots to them, made the appointment, groomer came out to meet us and our dog and asked how we wanted the grooming done. Told would call us when done, sure enough called and our dog looked awesome and smelled fresh and clean, even had a holiday themed bandanna.
