Carpet Cleaning
$90
Two men came to do the work - one said he was the owner of the company.  He worked on the living room and family room.  The other guy was to do the master bedroom, dressing area, and walk-in closet.  Furniture in the living room and family room was moved as needed to do the cleaning (wet cleaning as opposed to dry cleaning).  A machine like a floor polisher was used.  This means that they were unable to get within a couple of inches of a wall and forget getting into corners.  Still, the living room and family room came out looking pretty well.  In the master bedroom, dressing area, and walk-in,  nothing was moved and the fellow simply cleaned around everything.  Again, the same problem with the machine was present.
I was told not to walk on the carpet for 2-3 hours while it dried.  It was actually closer to 6 hours on the family room carpet and 5 hours everywhere else.
I was told I should consider having my vents cleaned.  I was also told that they do vent cleaning, but that I should probably have someone else do it who has better equipment than they have since that would result in my being happier with the results.  I was amazed at this recommendation and statement.
In spite of all the above, the carpets ended up looking pretty good and the price was reasonable.  Still, they talked a better game than they produced.

Carpet Cleaning, Air Duct Cleaning
$2,100
Fast talking, and did not produce results or a video as promised - quoted at 850.00 and ended at 2100.00 - They rubbed the carpets in circles, they did not clean the carpets - they left a residue of sticky stuff on the carpets...did not do corners - because they use a round floor buffer to "clean" the rugs.  People have asked me why my corners are so dirty still and I have to explain why!
...they went to my local lumber store and charged parts on my account for their machine - even though it was only 6$ they never told me about it - they went to the shop twice and were approved for one item but not the second - as the customer i want to know everything they charge!! - and i found out when the people who run the shop told me a week later.
They kept telling me they did work for the local rich family and didn't want to loose them as customers - well I have told the "family" and I was not complimentary!
 - They promised a video of the ducts they cleaned - not presented!!  They did not wrap any of the ducts like promised - and claimed they used 3 rolls of tape - which they added to the charges.
They gave a quote on the phone and almost tripled it - I had my husband come home early from work and told him to give them money and  get them to go - I was so angry - i had an idiot plumber in the way all day and couldn't focus on them - and they just kept adding the money up - when you quote - you quote!!!!!!!!!!  I spoke to a woman at Lowes in Bville and she had the same report - they told me they were from Bville - they are not!!!! Not Local to me and that is important - we are way in the country and people add to us randomly because they drive a distance - well I asked and they told me the price - I would never call them again!!!!!!  Ever!!!!!

Carpet Cleaning
$135
Overall, the experience and results were probably average. The cleaners were schedule to get there inbetween 2 and 5pm and, of course, arrived right at 5pm. I had only paid for the cleaning of the high traffic areas so I had already moved all but the biggest furniture pieces off of the carpet. They came in and, after trying to sell me a few upgrades/add-ins, got right to work. The entire cleaning lasted about 1 hour and our carpet was fairly dry within a couple of hours and completely dry the next morning. The only things that left me with a negative feeling were a) how often they tried to convince me that I needed this additional thing or that extra cleaning, but they're salesmen and I know it's their job b) the cleaning left a very strong flowery odor in the house for the next week. I'm not a big fan of heavily scented things and it took quite a bit of time to air the house out and c)after about a week, several of the stains are visible on the carpet again. It is much cleaner, but I was said to see some of the spots reappear.
