"When I originally bid the job, the client asked for branches from the neighbors tree that were hanging over his roof to be trimmed. I told him that due to the steep pitch of his roof, and the tight space, and his not wanting equipment on his lawn that we would trim what we could but I would not charge for that because I did not know what we could or could not reach. While we were there working, the client asked us to trim a branch in the neighbors tree that was blocking his view. I told him that if the neighbor gave us permission we would do it for $75 additional and Mr Cook agreed. Everything was written down and Mr Cook signed the work request. When it was time to pay - Mr Cook tried to deny paying for the branch because "it wasn't his tree". Additionally, after paying by credit card for the entire job - Mr Cook disputed the charge through his credit card company. Our funds were held back for 30 days while I submitted all documentation to the credit card company. At that time they released the funds to us - and Mr Cook began a fuss about damage to his property. I personally believe that Mr Cook was trying to get something for nothing. We had already given him a substantial discount, we also went against our own policy and worked on Sunday to meet his scheduling needs. I am not sure what else we could have done to please this customer."
