I would readily hire the contractor again but my feeling is that the Angie's coupon deals are a gigantic waste of money. This is more an indictment of the coupon process than the contractor.
The only problem was an add-on to the job which I felt was over-priced. I asked for a break-down of costs on that and it never was given. I would use them again but with caution on pricing of work not included in the original bid. .
"I went out of town and I have ben calling this guy for days with no response"
"[Member name] thank you for the work I hope to work with you on your next project . Dennis Teague"
On September 30, 2013, I purchased a Exterior Painting Package thru Angies List with Teague Construction Services for $1,299.00. This of course was an initial package and understood that it would entail some additional charges to complete the package.
I purchased the package thru Angies List as a member with the confidence that the offering company was reputable with integrity and an honest contractor that had been screened by Angie?s employees as a solid and honest contractor.
The reason for using Angies list is that I am a !00% Disable Viet Nam Veteran on a fixed income from the VA, lame to some extent, unable to get around in a normal manner, with chronic arthritis especially when the weather changes. So I need to have contractors I can depend on as honest with integrity. As it has turned out, that has not been the case, has turned out to be dishonest and in my opinion is dishonest, a liar and a crook in all respects.
After talking with the owner of Teague Construction Services, Dennis Teague, we entered into the first of several Proposals/Agreements, first one dated 12-18-14. The first ( 1st) Proposal was for external repairs and replacement of wood on structure per Proposal #1 attached hereto., along with Proposals # 2, 3, 4, 5.& 6. ( To be emailed as an attachment once the resolution team is assigned and an Email address is provided.)
I had about 2/3rds of the materials necessary to make the required repairs and replacements to the structure and agreed to let Mr. Teague use the materials in my materials room as needed to accomplish same. However, it seems Mr. Teague chose to ignore most of the rest of the replacements and repairs as shown by the attached photos.
On February 13th Mr.Teague informed me that he was finished with the work on my house except for a few items and that I would need to compile a Punch List with all the items I needed to have him complete, that he would be back the next day with his son and Mr.Teagues wife to start the work on the Punch List that was necessary to complete the job as outlined in the proposals, including Proposal #6.
As it turned out, Mr. Teague and his crew never showed up again, didn?t return calls or respond to emails, nor completed or even started on Proposal #6 for the west side deck with arboretum or refund the $2,000 deposit to start the work on the deck w/arboretum, of which I never authorized Mr. Teague to charge the deposit to my credit card, which I have a claim in with Barclays Bank for fraudulent charges on my account, unauthorized and for stacking charges on my account unauthorized which are now pending resolution.
The following is an outline of what was not done to the structure as outlined that should have been done per the proposals and attached photos. Additional photos are available per email attachment as necessary to complete an evaluation in finalizing the claim for these disputed charges: (This is just part of the Photos of the unfinished left incompleted and only part of the charges outlined. An estimated of at least double these charges could be assessed from the additional photos of incomplete work that were neglected by Teague Construction and the Owner Dennis Teague)
