Don Koher, the sales representive, was excellent, the best of the reps from several companies we consulted. He was pleasant, professional, informative and low-key. There was a long delay from the time we signed the contract until the installation, but Don explained that this would be the case because the terrible hail storm that hit Oklahoma City this summer had broken so many windows that the company was swamped (the other window companies had the same issue). Don even stopped by later on to check in with us in the interim. The old windows were removed and the new ones installed yesterday, and the door was taken care of today. We were told ahead of time to remove all window dressings, remove pictures from the walls, and move furniture and anything near the windows. We also put down protection for our floors, but didn't really need to do so as they took care of that. Lee Loy, who took our measurements, returned to do the installation, along with a helper. They did an awesome job! How they managed to remove 14 old windows and install new ones in one day is amazing. Lee and Dustin were friendly and courteous. They even insisted on moving a heavy antique bed that we had waited until the last minute to move. The installation was neatly and expertly done. There was no damage and they cleaned up all debris. The windows are beautiful! They totally change the look of our whole house. We noticed right away how quiet they make the house. Yesterday was a windy day with gusts to 40 mph; ordinarily, even with the old storm windows, we would have heard that kind of wind. Yet, with the new windows it was absolutely quiet. That bodes well for their insulation properties -- we'll find out this winter. The windows have a very solid and expensive feel and look to them. We love the clearness of the windows, the look of the lites, and the built-in blind in the door. We love the window screen that can be moved to the top or bottom, the safety latch that allows us to leave the window open part way but keeps it from being opened from the outside the rest of the way, and the feature that tells us at a glance if the windows are locked or not. We especially love how easy the windows are to swing out and clean (the upper one lowers and swings out -- no more standing on ladders!). The blind in the door opens, closes and raises and lowers with one mechanism. All mechanisms are very easy to operate. Don, Lee and Dustin were great and we are ecstatic about our new windows.

Buyer Beware! Don Koher, sales rep for Public Supply, came to our home and gave a sales presentation and bid on 3/2/10. We signed a contract for windows and siding on 3/15/10 and later for the doors on 3/18/10. They started work on our home on 4/26/10. I happened to be out of town for the first 3 days of their work. When I returned home, it was a major disaster. Every window had been prybarred out of the opening damaging drywall, cedar trimwork and custom travertine tile on my porch. Every window had been installed incorrectely, huge gaps, crooked, etc.. The men doing the work had not even tried to operate the windows after installing them or they would have noticed that they didn't function properly. They ran out of tan caulk and just switched to white. The caulk looked like it had been squeezed from a tube of toothpaste, rough and sloppy. They even managed to get it on our curtains. They had installed the front door, which had the wrong color threshold and screws that didn't match the hinges. Also they had only installed one set of the door hardware. The trim boards had been installed with nails that barely made it through the trim, therefor, the trim was not held in place. They had also started to tear off some siding, but I had to stop them. I told them to leave and do no more. I called Don and told him his lack of oversight on this crew was borderline negligence and that I didn't want to see those men back on my property. Don said that the men installing the windows were a substitute crew and were not the ones who did the measurements. He said he would get it handled, but in my estimation it was taking too long so I called the owner, operations manager and sales support manager on 5/11/10 and demanded satisfaction before proceeding. They told me they would have the original window crew back out next week to reinstall all of the windows. This happened and all but two windows are satisfactory. Those two seem to have been measured too short and they simply filled the oversized gap with caulk. Turns out that when they measured for the window to be placed in the new cutout, they didn't account for an outside closet wall that was in the way and we discovered that some of the siding outside was covering brick. The estimate then shot to $1500 instead of $300. Plus the wall had to be moved. Since I couldn't rely on them to do it correctly, I moved the wall myself. I am still looking for a contractor to cut the hole and install the window. Since moving the wall I called back to tell them to proceed with the siding and they sent them out today 6/8/10. They sent out the same guys I told them to never let on my property again. So after learning that they were here I called and told the sales support manager to get them off my property - he said it was the only crew they had for siding and i told him i didn't care and that maybe we should just forget the siding all together. I have paid 1/3 of total. Job not complete.

Their work was OK, I just wish they would have been neater. A small window in the bathroom was the wrong kind. They acknowledged they put in the wrong window and said they would replace it. However, it took nearly 3.5 months to do so.

Overall, I was happy with the experience with this company. They did mess up on one of the installations because it was not sealed properly. They did come back out and reseal the window though after I called them. Everything else went perfect. I thought the price was great for what we received. Even though they did one of the installations incorrectly, they did fix the problem with no complaints so I would chose to use them again.

Public Supply showed up on time for the job. They did good work and cleaned up after themselves. I would recommend them to friends and family based on my experience.
