We are extremely happy with the work Randy and his team did with our flooring. We purchased an open plan home which had a mixture of flooring (laminate, tile and hardwood) and wanted to match the existing red oak floors into the rest of the home. Randy was a pleasure to deal with, open and honest and upfront about scheduling. His team were extremely hard-working and did an amazing job refinishing and matching the older floor with the new. They really took the time to help me with stain considerations and ensured we were happy with it when finished. The floors turned out to be the most beautiful aspect of our renovation, and the team the easiest to deal with. I would not hesitate to work with Old World Hardwood Floors again or recommend their work. High quality product and finish, excellent communication. These guys are true professionals!

Mr. Waters is not ethical, and not a good human being. His word is not good. Be careful in any business deal with him. To be fair, his guys do good work,

I used Old World Hardwood Floors to do a hardwood floor installation on my rental that had water damage. Originally Randy Waters - the owner - quoted me $7.75 a square foot to do the job so I hired him as he had  done some previous work for me. After the installation was complete yet still required sanding and finishing he told me the price would now be  $8.50 a square foot because he had to make so many trips to the job. I  wasn't in the mood to argue so after some bickering we settled on $5850  turn key installed sanded and finished which was $8.50 a square foot  plus reducer .
I scheduled the sanding and finishing for the  23-25th of October. Randy and his guys never showed up nor did they  call. When I contacted Randy he said it would be the end of the week  and his guys would work through the weekend. Monday came... still no
show and no call. I finally spoke with Randy and he said it would be the end of the week and I informed him that I had carpet coming in the  following monday and need it done so I could get my renters back in. He said they could get it done. Thursday comes and he informs me it will  again be the following week because he had a big job for a builder that he had to re-sand and finish because the owner changed their mind on the color. I texted Randy and this is how it went down. " Randy, I know
you have bigger customers but the small ones count too. I was on the schedule a week ago. Last week you said you would get me done and work  through the weekend. Then it was the end of this week and you would  work through this weekend. Can you move another job where people aren't going to e put on the street as my renters now will be since I'll have  to move the carpet now which is a week out and their temporary residence is no longer available after this week? If the homeowner changed their mind... they should now realize that they'll have to wait? This  was his response. "Your right all customers matter to me but a builder
that spends 1/2 million a year on floors gets what he wants they are  trying to close on this house if you need to get somebody else believe  me I understand you renters need to get back to normal"
So there  you have it. This is how he treats his customers. If you schedule with him just hope the big guy who "gets what he wants" doesn't call in the  middle of your job. It gets better though. This incident made me look  at the previous invoice from when he had re-finished the floors in the  same house a year earlier prior to the water damage. The insurance  adjuster measured the hardwood floors for the claim at 558' while Randy charged me to re-finish 618'. Then for the new job - same address - he wrote the invoice for 640'. Now an install job will have waste I get  that. I called several flooring companies and all of them said 7-10% is
standard waste. So if you take the insurance measurement of 558 and add 10% you still don't get to 640'. So he flat out over charged me for the original re-finish and also jacked up the square footage again on  the new invoice.  I informed him that I would write this very  unemotional matter of fact review via text and this is what he replied.  " Don't give a $&%t about the internet I have been in business too long". Well, we all know how people find service providers these days. Maybe he will start to care now.
So, if you decide to use Old  World Hard Wood Floors then be prepared for terrible customer service, price changes mid job, and some potentially funny math when he sends you the bill.

Terrible.  Owner Randy Waters continually delayed our job in favor of bigger or builder jobs.  After the material initially being ordered and our being ready for installation we waited over 2 months for him to get around to us.  Oh, by the way when he ordered the material...he over ordered by at least 30% which I got to pay for.  A few months after the job was completed a few problems began to show.  We had to pursue him for nearly 1 full year before he completed  the work.  This pursuit consisted of many phone calls, promises by him to show up that never happened.  One area where he was consistent.  He would answer our phone call if we made it from a number that we had not called him from before.    And then he had promised to send his best (and the original) installer, but guess what? He send another who did not do an entirely great job.  We were just glad to have done what got done and just wanted to have nothing more to do with him so we never called back.
So to sum things up, from our agreeing for him to do approx. 400 SF of  floor, to took approximately 1 1/2 years to complete, I overpaid a noticeable amount of money due to his over ordering of materials, and we got a less than excellent job.  That should be all you need to know.

The one room they did was difficult to match and they were able to match it. They did the work in a timely fashion. They did an excellent job. The owner was quick to respond to my call. It was great they were able to size up my old floor with the new one.

Sanded and received my wooden floors and totally ruined them. All of the sealant is now pealing up. I called several times and he said he would come over to look at them. He never came over and during the last phone call he cussed me out. I have had several other floor companies over to look at my floors. They cannot be fixed and I have to replace all of the wood, at my own expense. Please do not use him.

We had to reschedule twice because of problems on my end, once was the day before the project was set to begin. I appreciated his understanding and flexibility, and we paid him $1000 up front for the inconvenience. The contractors arrived on time when the project finally started. We went out of town for 5 days and Randy said the floors would be completely finished by the time we returned. While we were away, he called multiple times to say that boards had to be replaced rather than refinished and the price would have to increase, which resulted in an increase of $2000 above the estimate. When we returned there were no workers here, our house and porch were a mess, the project was not finished, and we hadn't received a call from them. Since there was saw dust all over our bedrooms, we found another place to stay, called them, and Randy said they needed a few additional days to finish. When Randy notified us that the floors were complete, we headed back home for a walk through with him. Overall the floors looked great, and we were surprised they finished so nicely considering how old they were. However there were several boards that had been replaced, and the nail holes were not filled in at all, nor had the boards been floated properly (gaps were not filled between boards). This was true for all of the replaced boards (probably 20 total). Randy agreed that the project was not complete, said they would fix the above named areas the next week, and we went ahead and paid him. We called him 5-6 times to come back and finish the job, and mostly he would say "call me again next week, I don't have a pen with me" or some other reason. I don't doubt this was true, but a conscientious person would remember that he hadn't finished a job, especially after we had called so many times. We did this several times before he finally put us down on the schedule. The day he was supposed to finish came and went without him showing up or calling. I write this nearly 6 weeks later, and nearly 6 months after the project was initiated, and have not heard from him. Obviously I was wrong about the conscientious thing! I am so disappointed.
