The Mullin plumber estimated the bill as about $4,300. While he was working he raised the bill to be about $6,500. My elderly husband and son, who has a leg amputation, had to help the plumber dig. They also had to help fill the ditch in with sand before the concrete arrived. The three times they were out, they left the area in a mess!! Mr. Mullin has a talk show on KTOK and after listening to him for several years, I chose his company because how "wonderful" his company was. After using them as plumbers, I realized our family could have done the job--lot cheaper because the major cost was labor. The last day, my son spent many hours finishing the concrete, because their work looked terrible. In the closet, the new concrete partially covered the fittings and pipes that were NOT supposed to be covered. My son noticed that and I needed to uncover the fittings and clean them, the pipes, and other plumbing parts. This would have caused a MAJOR problem if the concrete had been allowed to set up. Concrete was splashed on the garage walls, doors, and other items that were not even close. Our family spent many hours cleaning up after them--they quickly left after we paid them!! I called several times to Mullin Plumbing while they were working and my calls were never answered. Since they were paid, my thoughts will not matter to the company and I will never suggest anyone ever use this company!! I am contacting KTOK and suggest they not take Mr. Mullin's paid advertising because it is a terrible company and does disrespect to their radio station. I now understand how elderly people are victims to dishonest companies. I hope that other people use another company--there should be honest plumbing companies in the Oklahoma City area.
Brad came out and repaired the drip on my kitchen sink first. He let me know that running the washer lines the first day would cost more because he would go into over time. He came back on Thursday when I was at home and did the job in a professional manor. He did have to put up with my dogs but he did not mind as he had met them on the previous day and handled the entire adventure as a professional.
I would gladly recommend them to anyone just on the experience I had with my home. The reason I chose them is because my work uses them and the jobs they do there are always done the right way. My company has been in Oklahoma since before it was a state and they will only chose a honest company above all else.
The second time I hired them was to fix a running toilet. It was an intermittent problem, and it didn't run while the plumber was here, which I'm sure makes it more difficult to diagnose. The plumber (who again, was very nice) replaced the part that he said was the most frequent cause of the problem and told me to call if there were any more problems.
Later that day, it started running again. I called the office a few days later and explained the situation and asked about scheduling a second repair visit. The scheduler put me on the calendar. However, she told me that the second visit would cost the full $90 service charge, even though it was their second attempt to fix a problem that they didn't fix correctly the first time. I don't have any way of knowing if that's typical of plumbers in this area or not, but it didn't seem fair to me. In light of that policy, I canceled the return visit, and I don't think I'll use Mullin again. (I do want to emphasize that my rating of "F" for professionalism is for this policy, which I'm sure is set by the Mullin owners, not for anything having to do with the plumber's own behavior.)
(I eventually fixed the toilet myself - the problem was a $2 seal on the flush valve.)
The bathroom sink drain is a problem causer; it's still leaking after he worked on it. I'm going to call them back today to try to get them back out to get it repaired. We've stopped using it temporarily, while it's a bit of an inconvenience, sometimes these things happens and I'm alright with that as long as they fix it properly.
I wouldn't fault them for the ongoing leak in the drain, so far I've had a great experience with them and I will use Mullin again in the future. If I were giving the grade... I'd give them an A- or a B+
