Mike (and Joe who works with him) showed up on time (8:30) as indicated and talked to us to confirm every aspect of the job. They got to work and stayed at it. These two men worked as a smooth team. They cleaned up as they went along, leaving the job clean at the end of each day. Every aspect of the work was done well with attention to quality and customer satisfaction. When there was going to be a delay Mike would let us know so we were not sitting around waiting on them to show up. That was very appreciated. The overall quality of their work was excellent. This is a very experienced crew who have a strong eye for detail. They are easy to talk to, polite and they made us fell comfortable having them in our home. None of the problems to be solved were a big challenge to them. Their experience really showed. They took no shortcuts or cheap money saving fixes but did high quality work using good materials and paid great attention to detail. We do not feel there is any remodeling job that these men have not already done or one they cannot do. They have many years of experience doing this type of remodeling work for one of the big box stores in the area. We could not have been happier with the results of their work. My wife a smart woman is very on guard for "big talk low performance" contractors and these skilled craftsmen totally won her respect as well as mine. We are now waiting on a estimate for another job and have two more after that.
Description of Work: Two jobs were performed #1 Our kitchen cabinets include a built in area for a refrigerator. We updated our refrigerator to a larger model and the new one was too deep for the space and would stick out into the kitchen traffic area. We needed the space enlarged by doing a bump out into our garage since our garage wall was common to this part of the kitchen, the wall could be extended out to accommodate the new refrigerator. The wall was was opened up and a new concrete footing was poured and a new space was framed in allowing for the depth of the new refrigerator. The water line was converted to flexible plastic to avoid future potential leak problems and a box put in the back of the space with a new quarter turn shut off valve. The new wall was fully insulated, sheet rocked, taped and bedded and primed. I chose to do the finish painting, a small job. Also during the bump out work an old unused 14" by 8' tall steel heat and air duct need to be removed to make adequate space. This involved some extra demo and sheet rock repair. We elected to not have the bump out go to the garage ceiling to create a shelf for extra storage and Mike added a wood shelf. He also put trim molding around the bump out to match what was already in the garage and even sprayed some matching popcorn texture to hide the duct removal at the ceiling. A piece of plywood was placed over the new slab at the level of the hard wood floor already in the frig space so the new space would be level with the old floor. I stained it to hide it since it was in a place that is almost not visible and there was no need any flooring to be added. Electrical boxes were repositioned for the new refrigerator an one extra one that was also in the refrigerator area was placed on the garage wall at my request. #2 Our kitchen cook area is on a free standing island and it separates the kitchen from our living room. The entire area is open. We had no kitchen cooking vent hood to remove cooking heat, steam and of course smells. We added a new stainless steel free hanging vent hood. One can light over our electric cook top was removed and a hole cut into the ceiling. We had the vent hood hung centered over the cook top. To keep our open view between the kitchen and living room we wanted the vent hood hung about 36" high which is about the maximum height for the unit. Due to the low 8' ceiling some of the vent hoods upper casing went above the rafters in the ceiling so it was necessary to build a framwork above the ceiling rafter to properly and safely hand the unit. A separate power line was run to the unit per instructions so as not to over load any circuits. A duct was run from the top of the unit through the roof to vent the cooking smoke etc. to the outdoors. A new good quality cover was added on the roof. Since this as done we have had a strong rain and there is no leakage with the roof exhaust venting. The entire job took about 3.5 days to complete.

Excellent! He generally stays busy so you may have to wait a bit but once he gets started, he is professional all the way. He is also honest and will not recommend work (or do work without checking) without discussing with the customer. I am more than pleased and would recommend him for any contracting job.
Description of Work: I obtained Mike's number from a friend who designed kitchens. I hired him to paint and repair the exterior of my home. He works with one helper (sometimes worked alone). He replaced the south and west siding with hardy-board, repaired some other places, sanded, painted the entire house. He was very particular about his work (perfectionist), and also wanted to make sure I was happy with the job done. He is extremely professional and went above and beyond "just finishing the job". I had a garage outside door that was stuck and he sanded so it will open and close easily for no charge. He is a general contractor and can do anything, not just paint and repair. He does a lot of remodeling as well. He admits he is not the speediest but takes pride and makes sure the job is done correctly and to the customer's satisfaction. I have absolutely no complaints; my house looks great!
