What a hoot. Imagine a group of guys that are paid to knock stuff down. They all loved their jobs and it showed! They had so much fun doing the work, they were very diligent to make sure everything was done right.

This was an interesting experience. We had actually contacted Midwest in February 2011 for an estimate, and Kevin Kates, Project Estimator came out to talk with us. Although we thought the price was reasonable ($1600), we couldn't afford it at the time. Nearly 15 months later, we contacted them again, Kevin came back out, took another look at the project, and gave us the same estimate. We fully expected it to go up, Kevin explained unless the price for back fill went up, it wouldn't cost anymore. We were also surprised this company would do such a small job compared to the major jobs they've completed around OKC. They were the crew who took down the rest of the Murrah Building in 1995 after the bombing. But, again, Kevin explained no job was too small. They accepted all kinds of business. They showed up on time the scheduled date, May 17th, and got to work with a crew of about 6-7 men. They decided not to use heavy equipment, such as a bobcat, and generally attacked the shelter with sledge hammers, jack hammers. Nearly all materials were dumped into the bottom of the shelter, then they back-filled with Oklahoma red dirt, and topped off the last 6-8 inches with topsoil. They cleaned up the yard, didn't trample my crepe myrtles, and were done by 3:pm that afternoon. Of course, some settlement has occurred, we expected that, but that area will be planted with dwarf red bud trees next year. Great job!
