MATTRESS FIRM

I was happy with the price as it was about $300 less than the stores near my home. I knew Mattress Firm was a fairly large company and had seen their ads on tv and in the papers so I felt they were probably ok. I understood that the mattress set would be delivered and set up free of charge and that my old bed would be removed as part of the transaction. A few days later, a truck with 2 scarey looking guys pulled up in front of my house, very late at night and without any advance notice. My husband was already in bed. It was a mattess firm truck wanting to deliver just the mattress. I told them we were not expecting them and it was very late at night. They said they had the mattress and the rest would follow later. I told them to come back when they had everything, and to come during the day. I was able to reach the salesman the next day and he explained that the pillows had "run out" and that they were expecting more the following week. He told me he would call and set up an appointment to deliver the bed, pillows, and all when they were in stock. Two more weeks passed by and I called the number I had been given by the salesman. There was no answer so I left a message - it was a Las Vegas exchange (?) Today I called the Mattress Firm on W. Reno, where the salesman said he worked. They tell me he is selling yet more mattresses at the Texas state fair and they can't get hold of him. I explained that I bought and paid for this mattress set and associated pieces on September 21 and now it is October 15 but still no mattress. My understanding is that when you pay for something, you should be able to, at some point get possession of it. The manager, Andrew said he would look into it. This afternoon, Andrew called to explain that he cannot get hold of anyone, to confirm anything. He went on to imply that I probably already had a mattress and they just needed to verify this. He says he will call next week when he has the paperwork. I am shocked speechless. In fifty plus years on this planet no one has ever accused me of stealing anything, much less a mattress!!!! I have no idea where this is going to end up but it has been an extremely wrenching experience up to now and I wouldn't recommend dealing with these people at any price.
