I would say that overall it went poorly. They were never at the house for very long, and when we finally saw what they had done, we quit paying John Long. He had apparently quit paying the painters, because we got a note from the painters that said they hadn't been paid. They left brushes in buckets in the yard and didn't clean up anything. The masking tape was never taken off the gutters or windows and is still there. My compost and part of my garden are ruined with all of the paint that was put in them. I attempted to pull the tape off the windows where I could, and it left a sticky residue on the windows that I can't remove.
Description of Work: John Long gave us a bid to scrape around all windows and doors and apply latex caulk as needed, scrape soffit and trim caulk as needed, replace soffit as needed, prime all bare wood with primer, apply two coats of latex paint, and clean all debris and haul away. He did not do any of the work. Instead sent a group of people to do the job. The doors were not scraped at all. Hardly any windows were scraped. I know this for sure because they didn't do any cleanup and there was no flaked paint on the ground. The soffits were replaced and partially painted. We requested that they not paint the gutters so they put regular wide masking tape on the gutters. They also put regular masking tape arount all of the windows. They never removed the tape and three months later there is still masking tape on the gutters and windows. The tape that I could remove myself left gooey residue on the windows that I can't remove. They only applied one coat of paint where they did paint. They painted on the bricks around the windows and smeared caulk on the bricks and didn't remove any old caulk. Paint was splattered on the porch, driveway, sidewalks and on the side of garage where they washed their brushes. There was no attempt to clean any of the splatters. The painters washed their brushes in my garden and in my compost and now that spring has sprung, 80% of my plants are dead in the area that they washed their brushes. Needless to say that I am extremely disappointed.
