came out on time informed me what was needed to fix problem, and he was very kind and knows his business. will use james again.
I've had James out 3 times now fixing a leak in our sprinkler system. The gophers keep eating through the lines.
He's responsive, shows up when he says & gets the job done.
I keep his business card & will call him again if I need him.
When we bought our house the sprinkler system had not been maintained and every zone had leaking, broken or non-functioning heads.
I called 5 companies to get bids. James was not the lowest, but he was not anywhere near the highest bid we received either.
We went with James for several reasons
1.) He's from Texas - where sprinkler systems are regulated - He keeps up his credentials and gives you a copy of them as soon as he meets you.
2.) He provided us with a free estimate that took up at least an hour of his time.
3.) He provided us with literature about maintaining our system (even before we committed to using him).
4.) He actually bids the job and does the work himself.
5.) He made us a supply list and told us we could buy the supplies so we could get the best price we wanted (shop local or online - our choice) so we'd know he wasn't upcharging the parts.
6.) By buying our own supplies we got a warranty for each sprinkler head that wouldn't require us having to use James in the future if they failed (but we will).
7.) His price was very fair.
8.) He showed up when he said he would and got right to work.
9.) Job took one day and came in under his bid.
With parts James estimated it would cost $950 to replace every sprinkler head and fix the numerous leaks, busted pipes, etc.
I spent about $350 on supplies and James charged me $365 for a full day's work = $715 ($235 less than his estimate).
My sprinkler system now works like it was brand new and my wife and I are very pleased.
We had bids as high as $2,400 for the exact same job. The lowest bid was only $450 - which tells me that guy wasn't going to replace all the heads because parts alone almost equal his bid.
I feel I was treated more than fair and will use James again in the future.
I called 5 Irrigation companies from Angie's List. James returned my call within a couple of hours and he could come out that very afternoon. Very Responsive.
He diagnosed the problem and fixed it. He also found when the sprinkler system was installed there were no cut off valves as there should be. So any leak or problem with the sprinklers would continuously pull water from the well. If there were cut off valves we could turn off the section of the sprinkler system that was leaking until we could arrange to have it fixed.
He is an Irrigation Specialist certified in the state of Texas. (Oklahoma does not require certification). He also guarantees his work and will fix any future problems at no charge.
He went above and beyond to explain to me how this sprinkler system works, since this is a new house to us.
I would definitely call him again.
He is great. We would use him again. He is personable. It's a, I guess for a one-man show kind of thing, so he has his own company, he was doing the work. He came out, gave full attention, did a lot of explaining, a lot of one on one, we looked up some options and discussed which options would be beneficial, as well as economical and then he came back and did it and it works. I didn't think his price was so awful.
It's a real interest because it's him and his company, so it's not like somebody else came and did it and who was just there about the job and to get out. He had interest on that.
The irrigation system was still leaking and he came back after we called him and fixed it again at no charge to us.
I am really happy with James' work and his customer service.
I would use him again and again.
He is very professional, pleasant, and competent. I recommend James without hesitation, and I will continue to do business with him.
James arrived on time, performed the work, showed me what he did, and told me if I had any problems to call him back.
