The service was professionally performed. Offered suggestions to improve the life of our compressor.
I purchased my house in July of 2013 along with a home warranty from Home Warranty of America (HWA). We originally had Airco come out and do a Fall 2013 winter inspection and everything worked well through the winter. However, upon the Spring 2014 inspection, Airco stated that a possible leak existed in the coils in the attic unit. The coils in the attic unit were fortunately covered under the warranty, but Airco wasn't an option for contractor selections with HWA. So, Fordified Head and Air was called by the warranty company. I was unsure of Fordified at first because there were not a lot of reviews on Angie's List, but I have to say I was VERY HAPPY with the customer service, service on the install, and general knowledge of the technician. Airco does great work, but the down side is the price...Airco is expensive. With Fordified Heat and Air, you get quality products and service, but at a fair price too. Chris, the technician, answered all my questions with expert knowledge; he always took the time (even if I distracted him from his work) to explain things in a way that I could understand them. He was able to install a brand new air handler/heater as well as an exterior heat pump unit with the upgraded R410A freon. It is important to note that over half of the work was covered under warranty, so the out of pocket cost was significantly lower that normal. All things considered though, you can't beat the price for the quality workmanship. Use these guys!
Long story short, I was low on R-22 (refrigerant) and this indicated a leak. The other company was going to charge me $338 for just refrigerant and/or another $368 to do a leak search and another $154 to "pressure with nitro." Chris, with Fordified Heat & Air not only found the potential leak with his bare hands and expertise (the other company was touting a special dye and light and camera...which I'm sure is cool and all, but expensive), he fixed it on the spot and refilled the refrigerant at 1/6 the cost.
Fortified Heat and Air answered all my questions and made me feel like the services were not only done professionally but done with an extreme respect for the customer.
I highly recommend Fortified Heat & Air to anyone and everyone!
Water heater vent replaced. He removed the old vent stack from where it joined into the Heating system venting. Left to find a part that would plug the hole temporarily without adding time to the bill. Opened the hole in the roof that was needed and sealed it. We've had rain after this and I don't have any leaks.
The balance of the repairs will be done on a timetable.
I've used this guy on several commercial properties for seasonal checkups and have had no issues or complaints.
One of our A/C condenser units was destroyed during a hail storm. Our general contractor (Trademark Exteriors) su
bcontracted the replacement to ire and Ice Heating and A/C. Everything about the installation was done in a clean and professional manner. We will continue to use Fire and Ice for our heating and a/c semi-annual maintenance, and future repairs if needed. We have also recommended them to our friends and family. The only reason that we have not noted the price is because repairs for our extensive hail damage was negotiated with the General Contractor, and not the various subcontractors.Licensing
