They were the only ones that would come out on the day we called them. They were very dependable, even though I have never used them before. Since they found out our air had quit, they came out the same day, and the next day they came out to check.

I have a larger home with two AC units, one is a central heating unit as well and can heat the home well, but alone it is somewhat inefficient at cooling both floors and the previous homeowners installed a second "AC only" system for the second floor. The upstairs unit stopped working - actually froze, so we were suspecting a freon leak. I called and received an appointment for approx 48 hours later. The technician arrived and I told him that I suspected a freon leak. He asked me for authorization to charge for "leak detection" and found the leak in the air handler. Then he packed up and left (charged $128 for the call) and told me someone from their office would be contacting me about the repair - I explained that I was surprised he wasn't simply ordering the part to fix it as the system was only about 10 years old and working perfectly before the leak. The salesperson called me, came over later that same day to look at the home presumably to offer me accurate estimates of sizes for a replacement unit but without inspecting or counting windows, making estimates of heat gain, etc.. but rather based his size estimate on square footage. Well, he did ask how satisfied we were with the cooling using the current 3 ton unit - so that does count. He then explained that since the industry was soon switching to non HFC coolants I should install a complete new system instead of repairing this one - but at a minimum I would have to replace the air handler because they could not just replace the coil - the system was too old and the part was not available. Most likely the entire system would have to be replaced in 5 years anyway. He promised estimates to install a new air handler or a new system, both 3 and 3.5 ton and both with and without the new HFC-free coolant. I never received the estimates after more than a month and 2 follow-up phone calls. When I received no call back in 2 days after my last call I consulted "The List" and called other companies to get more estimates and was quite surprised at the difference. More than one knew that a coil WAS available, and I selected a company that just repaired it yesterday at a total cost of about $780 for the service call, part, labor, new dryer, complete check for leaks and freon included. (I left them a positive report too). Though they may be right that I spent $800 for nothing and will have to soon buy a replacement system - it also seemed reasonable to offer a simple repair as an option since the rest of the system worked well before. I suspect the average lifespan of a well maintained system is more than 15 years making my repair expense a worthwhile gamble. I found it surprising that the technician did not even consider quoting me a price for the repair - which seems to suggest that this is the usual response to a leak in a coil (i.e. try to sell a new system).

It was a very good decision to go with them. I had heard that there really wasn't really much difference as far as the equipment prices go. It really came great down to the job that this company did. They did a good job evaluating what had to be done. We're very pleased with the job that they did.

The experience was most excellent. The lady I spoke with on the phone was helpful, and scheduled a repair four hours later. My technician (Rick) was very friendly and showed me the inside of my heat pump, explaining how they work and what part needed replacement. The cost was reasonable. In all, a very positive experience.

They answered my email (sent from their website) by phone call within one day. The repairman, Trevor, arrived at the time arranged, quickly diagnosed the problem, answered all my questions, and was done within 30 minutes. Punctual, courteous, and efficient. What more can you ask for?

Draybeck treated us real good as a customer. They could have charged a whole lot more money but they did not. Did some troubleshooting and the tech saved us some money.
