Don's Pest & Weed Control

I used the Dons Lawn for two years despite sprayed peonies and over sprayed bold areas. This time they sprayed a cat house used by two nice neighborhood cats, located on my back yard in protected area without grass. Per surveillance video the cat house was sprayed twice. I called their customer service and reported. The normal reaction would be to arrive, wash the cat house, and apologize. They never apologized, and I washed the cat house myself. The customer service accused me in not sending them photos, which were sent, and every time I would ask questions she would yell that she can’t hear me. The manager came to look at my back yard today, did not apologize either. Told that I do t need to pay the bill this time. They do not care, there are other lawn care companies who will take care of my yard.

Don’s has sprayed my yard for the last five years on the 7x program. Several occasions the applicator sprayed broadleaf control on our plants in the flower beds decimating them. They sprayed our lawn and neighbors last week with broadleaf control again not only killing flowerbeds but clearly damaging our already green lawn . I called but no attempt was made to correct the action or explanation. Poor customer service.

We've been with Don's over ten years, on a 7 times-a-year plan. At first, the service was great - never a single weed and lush, deep green grass. However, in the last few years, quality has taken a nosedive. It used to be that after a treatment, you could easily smell the chemicals they used and easily see the fertilizer granules, but not anymore. No smell at all (the work receipts list the same chemicals as in year's past), and you have to really search to see the fertilizer granules. I think they're just skimping on the application to cut costs (for them, not for me), or their "technicians" are skimming product and selling it on the side. We've even had to call them back to re-treat large areas where the crabgrass popped up JUST FOUR DAYS after a regularly-scheduled treatment. Also, their office staff is almost completely unresponsive. They usually call before they send a technician to do a treatment, and if you can answer that call, then you can actually talk with someone. But, if you miss the call, even by just seconds, and call them right back, they never answer - it ALWAYS goes to the answering machine. If you leave your name, address, & number, they almost never call back. Several times, I tried to call them to re-send a technician to re-treat after a poor job, but no luck - no live answer and no call back. I had to take time off work to go down to their office and speak to them in-person, but the boss says I can't do that anymore. It's such a hassle to communicate with them that I've started to just hit the missed weeds myself with some spray from Home Depot. We'll finish out the year with Don's, but we're seriously looking for a new company.

I have been using Don's for about a year and my weeds are as bad as when I started using them. Twice they called and said they were coming; there was a note on the door saying the gate was locked, which it wasn't. I have two gates to my back yard and I guess if they try one that's all they were going to do. After this I wouldn't see them or hear from them until I called and then they would put me back on their schedule, and my weeds were taking over. The last time this happened I waited a couple of weeks....no return visit. I called and told them I didn't want there services anymore. I would not recommend them.

Their service is okay. I have been thinking about switching. I would probably not choose to use them in the future, but I would tell a friend about them.

Started out pretty good but for the past 9 to 6 months their treatments for our lawn didn't seem to be working well, we began to have all kinds of weed infestation.  Within the past 3 weeks we, myself and my wife, have been in contact with them attempting to have someone come out and take a look at the condition of our lawn and we have had no response.  The professionalism shown by this business is about as low as I have ever encountered, they are vague, non-responsive and their person who answers the phone is very rude.  I do not enjoy providing feedback such as this but I would like to make anyone else who researches this area to be aware of the service and responsiveness that we were afforded.
Needless to say we now have another provider, one that is "A" rated by Angies's list.

Their "fertilizing" services were solicited for by my neighbor.  The technician didn't understand that the fence line dictates where property begins and ends.  He proceeded to spray from the neighbors house to the center of my yard - GREEN FERTILIZER! Then stops.  Really????  I am not sure what part of him said that the work he performed was satisfactory to anyone's standards!  I called them to finish the mess they started and it was half done, of course and to top it off, the huge green stains in front of my home show less and less curb appeal for me.  BUYER DONT DO IT!

They called the day before to tell me someone would be out the next day to spray. They use the green dye and/or leave a sign in the yard to let you know. But you can always SEE the evidence that they were there.
Any issue that I have had with this company was dealt with in a timely matter and to my satisfaction.

Don's would repeatedly come to my house without notification and end up only spraying front yard because dogs in back. I would have to call and arrange for them to come back treat back yard. I changed service provider in 2013. At the end of 2013 decided to give Don's another try. Called multiple times left voicemail. Both females(I believe Leslie and Nancy) I finally spoke to were rude. I was told that since I had left Don's in past would have to be a pay in full ahead customer. I told them I had been in the past already; no problem. I wanted them to care for my and my parents yard. It took them 2 months to even get out to estimate and they failed to ever give me an estimate on my parents yard. After much frustration and several unpleasant telephone conversations with the two females; I told them to just forget it as it seemed they could not get it together and she said "okay" click.....

Don's Pest and Weed Control came over and there was a quick response. They've never seen me before, I was supposed to meet them here with the check, apparently they didn't knock loud enough or I didn't hear them then went ahead and sprayed the yard so I just paid them online. They were responsive, nice and the coverage was good, they used colored sprays so I know they covered it. As far as I know, they were reputable and gave a good price.

My parents own a house in a high traffic area and dons seemed to always take care of their yard and included lots of signs. I recently bought a house in the quieter portion of the neighborhood. They came and sprayed a small portion of our yard and left. I have been calling them for about 2 months. They never answer the phone and dont return messages. I have gotten ahold of a live person once and asked if they were going to finish my yard. She said that she would find out what went wrong and get back with me, now they wont return my call. I challenge you to call them. I bet 99% of the time you get an answering machine. My parents have also tried to call about my service and cant get them to return the calls. If you want someone who might spray your entire yard but may screw you over and try to bill you anyways chose dons. if not keep looking.

He is always on time, and does great work. Our yard looks great because of him.

They were dependable, and they did exactly what they said they were going to do. They removed the pests inside our house. Their service was wonderful. They were really professional and really good with their service. The quality of their service was great.

They are very good. I don't have any complaints at all with them. I would recommend them. In fact, the rest of my neighbors are also using them.

They are very good. I like them to come early in the morning because I like to be the first one they spray that day. This is because I like to keep my back yard locked so the rest of my day is free. At times, I have asked them to come back and re-spray because sometimes it does not look like they spray like I want them to. I have a contract with them.

We live in Newalla, and honestly couldn't get most lawn service
companies to return our calls. So far they have only done one treatment
for us (we will update as we learn more about the company). They
called on a Friday and said they would be at our house Monday. They
didn't actually come until Wednesday...I assume that they delayed coming
because of the weather on Monday (seriously cold that day). The price
was a little steeper than I anticipated ($130 for about a half acre of
lawn), but since no one else even called us back, I don't really know if
the price is competitive or not.

They did an excellent job but they are too high. I am retired and I just cannot afford it.
