They quoted a price for my wall repair which was water damaged, they repaired it, did everything they said and billed me a slightly lower price because it wasn't as much as they expected. How many times does that happen??? Very happy with them, and would use them again and refer them to anyone.

The guys they contracted to do the framing, siding, soffit, and outside trim; did a lousy job and would not correct the mess ups. They left roof braces just daggling and not fastened to anything. The painters did a poor job painting and staining. They missed a lot of places with no paint at all on the wall, even though they said they did two coats. The stain work was terrible on almost all of the door facings. The inexperienced young guys they sent to do the trim work used caulking on the raw wood and it wouldn't take the stain. So they sent the same two trainees out to change out the pieces they messed up while the painters were here staining. End result, we have a lot of trim with extremely different shades. Its a mess and they won't fix it.

"Copeland Construction had followed up with (removed member name) regarding his issues and addressed them. It was determined that the trim in some areas needed to be replaced due to the stain not taking properly. Copeland had a job supervisor on the project along with the owner, who spoke with (removed member name) about the trim after the repairs were made by the carpenter and (removed member name) advised that he would take care of any remaining items himself. The issue regarding the roof bracing was resolved and is no longer hanging. This was missed during the final inspection. Our office has not received any calls from (removed member name) prior to this complaint on Angie's List, as the job supervisor and painter had made attempts to reach him with no returned call. Our office is available for (removed member name) to contact and set up a time to meet and go over any items he feels are still outstanding. Copeland Construction has not been in business for 39 years by allowing concerns of this nature to go by without making an effort to satisfy their homeowners."

This was the contractor the insurance company used to fix my roof. They were prompt and got to work from the get go. I was impressed with the high quality of their work. The only reason to pause, is they do insurance work so they are quite pricey, but if you can get a deal, or if they give you a quote you're happy with then you should be satisfied.

We were very pleased with them and the way they got the work done. The job went real well. We were pleased with the people who talked to us and explained what they would be doing and what would be going on. They finished the job when they said they would. We didn't have any complaints with them whatsoever. We would recommend them based on the personnel we dealt with. Their prices were comparable. We got a couple of estimates and they were right in our price range. They fell right in the middle and did a good job for us.

They have done an outstanding job. They still have job left to do but the weather turned really bad so they put a hold on the job. I have insurance and I have to pay $1,000 deductible and the insurance company is paying for the rest of it. There’s an additional payment of $800-900 and I have to apply for it once the job is finished. They installed 30 years or lifetime warranty shingles which are actually better than what was on the house. They’re still working on the estimate with the insurance company for the house. I’m very impressed with them. They’re very good. They’re kinda in the middle range for the price. I got estimates from other companies and some of them are above the $10,000 mark. When I asked them to give me a ballpark figure, they gave me an estimate of $4,500-5,000 and that’s a lot cheaper than anybody else. Everybody I dealt with seems to be really honest and I appreciated that. They show their concern and wanna get your house fixed and do the best job they can for you. They’re a good company.

I didn't hire them, they worked for the bank that owned my house when I bought it. They were very responsive even though I was not the one to hire them to begin with. They sent one guy to come and find the leak and he could not find it. Then the owner came out to try and find it. They were very persistent to find the leak when other companies might not have.

My insurer required railings to either side of the steps from my back porch before they would renew my insurance. Some companies I talked to told me this would cost $1000 or more. A number of places did not want to deal with this relatively small project. I contacted Copeland Construction by email through their web site. They called me back promptly in the morning and gave me a price quote that was much more affordable. I agreed and they scheduled the work to be done within days, weather pending. They were all polite, friendly and helpful. The person in charge of the work talked to me about the railing options. I wanted wrought iron but not too expensive. He bought them from a local store and then installed them. I am very pleased with the entire experience.

It was an insurance claim so I didn't have to pay that much. My insurance company actually recommended them. I was very, very happy with their services. They did everything and I didn't have to worry about anything. I would absolutely use them again.

Ten condo units were involved. We each chose our own contractor, but, the whole building was being restored by this company, so we felt that it would be to the best of our interest to use them. The whole thing was a disaster from beginning to end, with far too many problems to detail. The job was far to large for this company to handle. Their subcontractors were not given details as to what to do, therefore, wrong things were done, and things to be done didn't get done correctly. The expense exceeded the estimate by twice the original amount! Exceeding my insurance limit by $15,000.00! They had told me $11,000.00, then, I went over one day and the unit was nothing but a slab. Without conversing with me, they had torn out everything and said the price was doubled! It went down hill from there. No show contractors, lousy workmanship, not returning calls, etc. The job took almost a year, all this time, I was losing rental income. Maybe with a very small job, the company would be OK, but, in my opinion, I would NEVER recommend it or ever use them again!

"Whenever a home or condominium burns down, we understand the homeowner is placed in a horrible, stressful situation but there are also certain responsibilities placed on the contractor as well as the homeowner who had the loss. We work very hard at properly communicating with our clients and we keep very detailed job diaries on each job, no matter what size the job is, and we have a four-inch file for this job. In this case, the client was very upset about many things but one of the main things she complained about on Angieslist.com had to do with her original estimate increasing. The reason the price changed is because she wanted bids to upgrade some of the items that were quoted on the original bid. In fact, she asked her estimator, Noah, to give at least four different estimates during the course of this job, not counting her original one. Insurance does not pay for upgrading items and that is the reason her original bid changed. She was also asked to move her personal items out several times and refused to do so. When we started work on her unit, she was very upset that we had moved some of her things around so we could begin construction and clean up. There are always two sides to every coin and I can assure you, Copeland Construction could not have the awesome reputation it has and it wouldn't have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. Statistics show that most businesses fail within the first year, and Copeland is in its 34th year and looking forward to many more successful years. Respectfully, Scott Copeland"

Copeland Construction responded pretty quick to my call. I had several estimates, but they were who I decided to go with, as I had heard good things about them. The worker was great, even with 100 degree weather he had to work in, never a grumble.

Copeland Construction originally remodeled the kitchen completely, but they had to come back and redo it again. They didn't put the right color on the cabinets, and didn't refinish the cabinets. They honored their mistake and redid the kitchen again.
