Big Sky Roofing

Guys did a great job on the outside of our house. They were very detailed in all the tight areas and the painting was so clean. You would have thought the house was painted that color originally. On time, very courteous and the manager even stopped by to check on progress and crew.

I contacted Big Sky after I had received unsolicited estimates regarding the condition of my roof. I found them using Angie's List and they came highly reviewed. I believe I originally contacted them via email and they followed up within a day or two. Scott came by right around the agreed upon time to do the initial estimate. He took the time to answer several questions about the insurance process. He was very patient as I asked many questions and wanted to understand the process. It was during this conversation that Big Sky made their only gaffe during the whole process. *** After getting Scott's estimate I proceeded with making the claim with my insurance. The insurance agent didn't include valley flashing in his estimate and this caused the insurance estimate to be lower than Big Sky's. Scott was very accommodating answering my questions about the difference and called my claims adjuster direct to speak about the difference. The agent wouldn't cover the cost of the flashing if it wasn't pre-existing on the structure. Scott said that I needed the flashing and offered to eat the difference if it turned out the roof didn't have pre-existing flashing. Awesome effort on Big Sky and Scott's part (even if it was only about $100 difference). After we got the insurance squared away, I scheduled the date to replace the roof. The roofers showed up early in the morning (not too early) and were done by that afternoon. They did a good job cleaning up the job site and I've only found a few nails around the property since the work was done. The workers did bend a small piece of guttering while they were here but Scott was able to bend it back to shape during the installation. Looks as good as new. The roof looks great. Overall I was very impressed with Big Sky and Scott. They went the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable with the process and the product and answered all my questions. Scott was very prompt responding to emails. *** - I gave them a B in professionalism because of a remark Scott made during the estimate. He basically offered to inflate the cost of the estimate to help lower my out-pocket expense due to my deductible. I kind of ignored the comment and he didn't push the issue. This might be common place among contractors and it shows a business that is interested in helping the customer and gaining their business. However it artificially drives up the cost of replacement, and by extension the cost of home owner's insurance. I would have given them a lower rating because of this comment, but they made up for this issue in other ways, specifically the level of service.

I called Big Sky Roofing and they came out the next day and gave me a quote. Since the roof was leaking into my bedroom I wanted it done right away, so they came back the next day and fixed it. They did a good job. They also gave me a quote to change out wind turbine skylights to electric skylights. So far I am pleased with their work, but we will find out when it rains. They got out here fast, did it, and it looks like they did a good job. Their price was average. When there is someone out working on your house you like to ask questions and if they can't speak English it's an issue.

Absolutely excellent work! The two men who showed up to work worked efficiently, they were friendly, ensured that the cleanup was done properly and were careful to protect the landscaping as they used the ladder around the house. I was able to monitor much of their work and was very impressed with how efficient they were throughout the day. I had paid for 8 hours of work for 2 men and they worked right up until the last minute to ensure I got all of my money's worth. I would highly recommend this company for exterior painting.

The first two guys they sent over were a waste of time and effort. They barely could scrap anything off and did the bare minium and were just plain lazy. I complained and they sent two new guys to come over a couple of days later to scrape the paint off and they did a better job. However, when my painter started working, he ended up scraping all over again because he said they did a terrible job. I have a great painter and he did a great job for my house. He takes a long time, but puts a lot of effort into the job and is really cheap compared to most others. I do not recommend BIG SKY. They did try to fix the problem but overall, the effort wsas disappointing. They acted like the cheap deal I got through angies list was justifying their lack of effort. I did not get a good deal.

They were absolutely fabulous. Raquel the secretary kept me up to date on the whole process. She would call me to let me know what they were finding for replacement tiles and that they couldn't find the exact color for the roof. When they did find one that was close she called to see if that would be okay. Their worker showed up and did a fantastic job on the work. After he left I noticed some tiles that I thought needed to be fixed. He came back to check on the issue. He explained that the tiles may look loose until they heat up and lay correctly onto the roof.

The paint crew started the day that they said they would and they arrived daily at the same time. They worked until mid afternoon each day and the week in which they were working was extremely hot (100's). Because this is a wood sided historic home built in 1917 there was a significant amout of scraping and prep work that was required. They did an excellent job preparing the house and primed the exterior and then painted two coats of finish color with a tim paint on 52 windows and additional accent color in various locations around the home. My wife was home during the painting and was pleased with the care that was shown by the paint crew and was very pleased with their friendliness.

A friend recommended that I call Big Sky to get an estimate. Before calling I looked on Angieslist and saw they had very good ratings. Two other roofing companies did not show and the other I called was not very professional. Scott was professional,friendly and on time when he gave me the estimate. He also took care of coordinating the replacement of the gutter which was a big help. They started work on time and completed when promised. The roof and gutter look great after finished and they did a good job of cleanup. Overall they did a excellent job and I will use again in the future. I highly recommend Big Sky.

I called Big Sky Roofing to look at a leak we discovered this weekend. They sent Jeff out an hour and a half later. Aftter looking on our roof he said it was very minor and he sealed the area around the chimney that was causing the leak. He then said it was no charge because it was so minor. My husband insisted on paying at least a service charge, but Jeff refused. He just asked that we remember their company if we ever get hail damage (we live in OK so we most certainly will at some time).

We needed an inspection/estimate for our roof, siding, and gutters following the May 29, 2012 hailstorm. I called Big Sky because of their high rating on Angie's List. The receptionist on the phone was very personable and helpful. She was able to schedule my appointment to take place just a few days later, and said that Jason would be the one to come to our house. My appointment was for 9:00 a.m. At that hour, Jason called and apologized that he was running a bit late because the roof he was inspecting before ours was much larger than anticipated and took extra time. He told me his GPS said he could be at my house at 9:17, and that was when he did indeed arrive. I did not mind at all that he was a bit late, since he took the time to call and let me know. He appeared to be thorough and efficient in his inspection, and I am grateful that he was honest and clear in explaining his findings to me.

We have a very unusual house and for the most part, they did good job.

Everything went just fine. They completed the work within the promised time frame. Everyone we dealt with was professional. I would definitely recommend this company.

After the last hail storm, we knew we needed a new roof. We contacted several roofing companies, all came out within a couple of days that it was totaled. Only 2 gave actual estimates instead of just the "totaled" report. The estimates were comparable in price, and Big Sky had done a patch on our roof previously, so we went with them. We worked with Jason, and his customer service is excellent. Even little things like he remembered that I had a baby so he called befor coming and knocked quietly in case she was asleep. the roofing was scheduled within a week, and was completed in 1 day. Cleanup was good-- I didn't find any nails or trash. I would use big sky again in the future.

After a big hail storm we called several roofers to come repair the south face of our roof and the skylight that was broken. None of them came when they said they would! Then we found Big Sky on Angie's List, and even though it did still take them a month to get around to our small repair job, they did come when they said they would, the workers were courteous, and they were done in 1 hour. A supervisor came 2 days later, checked everything out, and collected payment. Overall we were pleased with their work and price, they were just very busy with all the other roofs that had been damaged in the storm, and our small repairs were probably low on their priority list since most people got entire roofs replaced with insurance claims. However, a couple of companies told us they weren't even doing repairs...only whole roof jobs that were more worth their time. So we were thankful Big Sky fit us in.

We worked with Scott. He was prompt, courteous, and thorough with his estimate and follow-up calls & visits. The roofers did a good job (from what I can tell without a first rain! :D) and cleaned up the yard fine. Our only "issue" at all is that we were expecting the roofers around 7 am. At 8:30 am, after we had already left the house with our kids, we found out that they were actually running 5 hours late due to rain the day before. It would have been nice to have known in advance - would have altered kid entertainment timing / plans a bit. However, even with the initial delay and another afternoon rain shower, the roofers finished the house's roof by dark. They came back the following evening and finished the shed. We'll use Big Sky again in the future. :)

After a hailstorm that caused window, roof and gutter damage I was in a quandary as to who to call. We had been unhappy with the roofer we used after a similar hailstorm two years ago. There were so many roofers' signs popping up in the neighborhood! So I decided to join Angie's list and found that Big Sky had the highest rating. Also, there were so many excellent accounts of their service. So I called them that day, had an appointment set up with Jason, and was impressed with his inspection report and estimate. The work was done by the end of that week, with no problems. The workers arrived promptly at 7 on the scheduled morning, worked until dark, and cleaned up the driveway so that we could put our car back in the garage. They were back early the next morning (Friday), to clean up the yard and remove the dumpster they had used. Jason came by on Monday, with another man to inspect the finished work - we heard a few taps on the roof - and then he presented us with the bill, which was just as estimated, and was under the insurance company's estimate. I had asked Jason if he could arrange for the gutter and window repair, as the web site for Big Sky indicated they had those services. He said the company had arranged for contract work with a window company and would give them our name. On the gutter, he told us that it would be less expensive for us to call the company we'd used before. So we were happy to do that, and are in line for that service. We've have been so pleased with this experience that we've recommended Big Sky to several people, and will continue to do so - as I'm sure that our Oklahoma weather will continue to provide us opportunity for these services!

While we did not sustain any significant damage and thus did not need any additional services beyond the inspection, I was impressed by Big Sky's professionalism, throughness and honesty. I would not hesitate to call Big Sky again if I needed work done on our roof.

They saved money by not using galvanized nails, the nails are rusting and the paint job is ruined after two years.

I would not hesitate to contact Jason if I need any roofing in the future.

Jason at Big Sky has been such an amazing resource. We took advantage of the Angie's List Skylight Repair coupon and he/crew fixed and sealed my grandmother's two skylights. She's on a limited budget and with the recent storms badly needed the repair but needed a reasonable, fair price. Big Sky honored the coupon and completed the work timely, professionally and within the coupon's 2 hours "value" saving her several hundred dollars. We couldn't be more pleased with his team and will definitely use them again in the future!

The bottom line for me with Big Sky is they're every bit as great as everyone on Angie's List says. If you lose your roof and need to get a new one, go with these guys. Their prices are fine, they help you with the insurance company, they do a great job, and if there's anything you don't like, they're right down the street. Be there in couple of hours. When Jason and "Mike" were up on my roof the other day, I could help thinking that this must be what the old timers imagine it was like back in the days of The Andy Griffith Show. Neighbors helping out neighbors. Seriously, Big Sky is exactly what you want in a roofer.

They spent majority of time removing the old paint and doing a lot of prepping work. However, they did only get one coat on the areas we wanted painted. They could not apply a second coat because we only hired them for eight hours. They were here on time and got their job done, and cleaned up well.

Overall it went well. Jason and a co-worker came out and inspected the damage. He explained to what happened and he fixed the issue. He used a couple tubes of what I assume is some type of roofing adhesive and did not charge for the work. He also chaulked some rusty nails that the builder should have done. Jason did gaurentee his work that he did for free. Big Sky, will be the only roofing company I call.

They are excellent on every category.

They came out the day I called them. They did a good job. They did fix the problem.
