Now we are trying to buy another home, we were set to close today, but because of a simple mistake Shelly made, it might not be until next week or later which is costing us money since we told our landlord we would be out of the rent house this weekend. Last week she told us it had been approved by underwriting and was already sent to USDA officers (which was a lie, it wasn't sent until today). We were missing an FHA certification from our paperwork and so her underwriters couldn't approve our application. She sent the papers to our realtor on Monday to sign (after she had said it was already with rural development). In the beginning, our realtor was under the assumption that he only needed the USDA cert, since that's the type of loan we are doing (He has done many USDA loans, Shelly has done none). Shelly didn't catch that we didn't turn in the FHA cert until underwriting asked her about it. She tried blaming it on our realtor and told me it's his fault that he didn't turn it in when we went under contract. But isn't it her responsibility to make sure we have all the appropriate paperwork before she submits it? Now our good rate is going to expire and we are paying much more money (for thirty years!) when this could have been avoided. It would just be nice if she admitted she made a mistake. All she has done is get angry and blame other people for her screw-ups. She is rude and a liar, I would not work with her again. Hopefully she doesn't screw up the rest of the process somehow. These were the two major problems, but we had so many others, including her not responding to emails, not calling back after we left messages and little mistakes with paperwork here and there that my husband and I caught, not her.
