I do remember that they were definitely on time. They were trashy like with long pinkie nails. They also talked me into doing something I didn't need to do to my pool But there were okay. They were not professional at all. They were nice, they helped identify the things I need identified. They were good. I would use them again, absolutely. It took abut 2-3 hours. They did clean up fine. They did fine.

Despite being somewhat stumped at first, within 20 minutes they found that the leak was in the service line running into my house. They estimated that it was three to four feet beneath our flower bed. They gave me the estimate to dig down and fix it. It was going to be roughly $1200. They also gave me the estimate if I dug the hole myself, which I really appreciated. By doing so, I saved about $1000. They also threw in a quick fix of pipe on my water heater that had corroded from hard water at no extra charge. All in all, it was $295 to find the leak and $190 to fix it.

Great service! Chuck was the sixth person to look at it, and I finally realized that most plumbers don't fix very many slab leaks. It was well worth the $295 to find where the leak was, so breaking up ceramic tile and making multiple holes in the wall was not necessary. He used PEX plumbing to bring the water through the attic. This time it was the cold water line, and the hot water line had had the same repair done to it before we ever moved into the house. Advice to anyone with a slab leak: call American Leak Detection - they can find it and fix it! They are licensed plumbers as well as a leak detection service.

He simply cut a piece of  dry wall from under the sink that you can't even see.  He put the piece back where it came from after he did the repair.  Although the repair was more than we wanted to spend, nobody wants to have repairs, it was less than what we were told to expect.  There was absolutely no mess left by them.

We had a leak coming from under the slab in the Master bathroom.  We couldn't see it but we could hear it running and we knew from our water meter that the water was continually running. We called American Leak Detection and a Mr. Hodges  (I'm blanking on his first name I think he said Jim) came out.  He spent quite a while finding the leak.  I appreciated the fact that he didn't seem like he was in a hurry and was trying to get the job done correctly.  He used some sound equipment and found where the leak was coming from.   He came back with a price of 1,065 to bypass the leak and re-route the piping through the attic.  I had a moment of sticker shock but I understand this is a technical job and I told him to go ahead with it.  He cut open a small hole near the back of the master shower (in the drywall area).  He told me another option since this was a small pipe that was only used for the sinks and not the shower would to be run a smaller pipe through the leaking pipe.  He advised that this option was less work and would only cost $710. The only drawback would be that there could be less water pressure if we use both sinks at the same time. We usually only run one sink, so I told him to go ahead and to the 2nd option.  In all he spent 3 hours here.  He seemed very professional and detail oriented.  The leak is gone and the water is running fine.  I'm happy with their work and I would recommend them to somebody who has a leak.

I called American Leak Detection on Monday afternoon after a different plumber had told me that I had a slab leak, and that the cost to reroute the entire hot water system in the house would run over $3,000.
American Leak Detection responded to a phone call immediately, and was able to schedule an on-site visit for the next afternoon.
On the day of the servce, Chuck showed up on time and ready to assess the problem.  A complete electronic leak detection showed a leak under the slab on the HOT side.  The leak was located under the den floor and was isolated to the line between a half bath and a full bath on either side of the den.  The cost of the inspection was $225 (discounted if the work is performed) and the total cost of the repairs (including the inspection) was estimated at $965.  He was able to start immediately.
The repairs were completed by about 4:00pm.  The leak was repaired by re-routing the line through the attic.  The leak line was cut off and abandoned.  A new 1/2" insulated line was run through the attic between the 2 bathrooms.
Following the repair, the entire system was re-tested and it was determined to be leak free.

The crew got there at 9:30am and by 10:00 had determined the exact location of the leak. By 12:30 they were wrapping up work and preparing to leave. Their efficiency was remarkable. I had initially scheduled a plumber to come repair my water heater because we had no hot water and the water heater was running all the time. But using my 75 year old brain, I determined by myself (for which I am very proud) that there was a leak. I cancelled the plumber and using Angie's List found American Leak Detection. I called on 10/30/14 and they came the next morning. I can't get doctors appointments that fast. I would recommend them in a heartbeat and would call them anytime I had another leak.

American Leak Detection was able to locate a leak in our skimmer lines that another pool service detection company could not find. The leak is reportedly very deep (approximately 4 ft.) beneath our concrete pool deck. The sound was very faint and muffled but they had a piece of equipment that actually moves up and down the side of the pool itself and that was what enabled them to actually detect the location of the leak. They worked at it for about an hour and a half. Technicians were prompt, called before arrival and were polite and easy to work with. We would recommend them and would use them again if needed.

I thought that they were great. I thought that my leak was under the slab and the technician was able to find it elsewhere. It seemed like the cost was very reasonable. I thought that it was going to be a little more. I would use them again. The price was reasonable.

Wow - So I the first person I had come look at my pool thought I might have a leak in my main drain line and assumed we would have to bust through the side of the concrete pool to repair. This sounded expensive......
Then American Leak Detectors comes over and checks it out. AWESOME! The team showed up on time (appointments are given for half hour time frames i.e. the team will arrive between 8:30 and 9am) and quickly got to work. They asked lots of questions first to identify why I had called. I explained how my pool was losing water, especially during the winter when the pump was off and the cover was on. I explained exactly where the water line was on the bottom of the pool.
20 minutes later they tell me I have a and quot;Mud Ringand quot; I look confused and ask what that is. They explain it to me. The bottom drain which is made of PVC has lost the watertight seal that connects it to the concrete bottom of the pool. I look horrified and ask how much that is going to cost to fix as I imagine a jack hammer. He says $25.00 and it will take me about 5 minutes.
SERIOUSLY? Yes! He mixed up some swimming pool putty, swims to the bottom of the pool and seals the bottom drain, gives me instructions to leave the pump off for 24 hours and I should be fine. I nearly hugged him (but don't tell him that).
Bottom line, I had no idea. They could have said anything was wrong and I would have paid $$$ to fix it. I got a $25.00 repair at the same time as the inspection and I will absolutely use them next time. Customer for LIFE!

Searched for a water leak under slab house for three hours with the specialty tools. They were able to trace the water leak to the point of entry to the house at the edge of the slab. They replaced the valve and the tee fitting that someone had merely pinched the pipe together and added solder years ago (terrible shortcut).
