I thought I would take my suit to Alterations By Sarah after reading the reviews on Angie's List. When I got to the store there were 2 people ahead of me in line waiting to pick up their clothes. The lady that was helping them was an older Asian lady that was very rude and short with the customers. She was mad at one of the customers because he did not have his pick up ticket with him. She was barking orders at one of her employees in a foreign language. I stood there for 15 minutes and they never acknowledged my presence. I had enough and decided to take my business somewhere else.

Overall, it went okay, although we had to wait quite a while for assistance as the only person working was busy discussing installing a security system with another individual. We did get the garment back when promised and they did do a good job. I would recommend them for alterations. It seemed like they did a lot of bridal and prom dress business.

As far as the alternations they do, I feel they are good. The gentleman over there is exceptional and very friendly. For alternations, they take the shortcuts to get it done for the least amount of money I suppose and that's not always the best thing. It depends whether I know what I want to sew. They do a good job for what they do. I feel alteration work is extremely expensive. I can never tell if the jeans have been altered because they do a really good job on that. It seems like it is $10 to $15 for the straight seam that they do. Everything that they make seems like there's a charge for each seam. If they take up both legs, it's like $10 each side, but if you need to take enough inside and outside the leg, then that would be times 4. They take up the left side and the inseam on the left, then the right side and then the right inseam; so that maybe $40. If it's a hem, then that's more like $60. They simply do the alterations and they are not there to design the clothes. They are upfront and they explain how they charge. They tell me that it would be $40 if there are 4 seams; so there is no hidden cost. They are pricey, but their quality is good. I would use them again if I have to.

I have used Sarah for many years, however, as she has gotten busier and busier it is more difficult to get garments as soon as I would like to have them. I have always been pleased with the quality of work and price of services.

The work was extremely professionally and well done and I was very pleased with it. It met my requirements and specifications quite well. The price was not exorbitant for my market. They only legitimate complaint I have was that it could have been done a little faster than what it was done as it took a week. This was because they were overwhelmed with work as they were busy with prom and graduation. I would use them again in the future.

This was an amazing tailoring experience. I have had horrid experiences with tailors who overcharge before but that is not the case here! When I went in there were a few people in front of me and she took care of us all quickly, but thoroughly. They all seemed thrilled with the service they received. When it was my turn I tried my dress on and she pinned me up and asked a lot of questions - which I liked because I really needed this dress to fit well because it was a bridesmaid dress. She had it done in less than a week. When I came back she had me try it on and looked at it with me to make sure everything fit fine and asked me several times if I was okay with the fit. Also, she quoted me the price BEFORE I left the dress with her - not after - so I knew what to expect. The quality of te tailoring was spectacular! Very, very high quality. I am so glad I've found a good tailor in OKC - I won't be going anywhere else!

The store is very small, and one man takes care of customers and does measurements. There was one other woman working in a back room. You may have a line of people ahead of you when you arrive, but the service is well worth it. The man I mentioned was very friendly and professional. The customers I saw while I was there (20min max), seemed confident in his abilities and most I could tell were repeat customers.

I thought it would cost a fortune (never had it done before) to adjust the topcoat, which was cashmere. To my surprise, it was only $35. I didn't know how well a garment like a t-shirt bought in a retail store would look after taking off a few inches from the bottom. When I got the t-shirt, it was sewed nicely and looked as if I bought it that way. The slacks were also very well done. He had all three garments ready the next day.

I should point out, he only takes cash and check as payments.

I would highly recommend this business for professional, one-on-one service.

Prior to bringing the pants in to be hemmed I actually pinned them to where they needed to be on my own. The only reason I did this is because I did not have time to have the staff at Alterations by Sarah mark and pin them. Regardless, I brought in the pants and the staff were very friendly. The person assisting me hestitantly asked if he could have extra time to hem the pants because of a week long holiday the following week. I did not have any problems with this arrangement since I really did not need the pants right away. He said they would be ready on 6/27 and would cost $10. I picked up the pants yesterday and paid the price he quoted me when I initially brought them in. They even pressed them for me! They are the perfect length now. I would definitely recommend this company to others looking for good alterations at a really fair price.

They have you try on what you want to alter and in front of mirrors. The worker asks several questions as they use a small ruler and chalk to mark the changes. You can tell they are good as they guide you through the process and always are helpful and polite. The clothes are always ready when they say and the price is fair. Good people, great job!
