Airtron replaced a capacitor (45/5 in 440V) for one of my units.  Airtron charged me $246 for capacitor alone.  Service call was $89 (which was fine) for a total of $335.  Just bought (2) backups on Ebay for $18 each though I think you can find cheaper.

I can see a markup of 100%, but not a 1000% increase.  Do your self a favor and go remove the back panel off your outside A/C unit and take a picture of the label then go buy yourself a back up capacitor in case it goes out.  I gave them an Overall B rating due to fact they came to my house within 2 hours and were professional.  After research, you will find capacitor replacements between $50 to $300.  Mine happened to be on the high end and my fault for not researching further before I agreed to the replacement.  The item took him 5 minutes to replace.

The technician, Gary D., was very kind and professional, but the overpriced part makes me bite my lip!

My review is as of 09-03-2014. A while back, I got a envelope from AIRTRON Heating and Air Conditioning in the mail. I thought it was an advertisement so I threw it away as I don't read junk mail. A few days ago, I receive an envelope from this same company. I thought I would open it to see what it was. Apparently, it was a past due notice that I owed this company $28 from the last two months. I called this company, AIRTRON to see who they were and why they thought I owed them money. Only to find out, the company I had a service contract with (One Hour) is out of business (no notice of any kind to that fact) AND my service contract is on and quot;administrative hold pending paymentand quot;!!! So I asked if I was covered, the answer was and quot;noand quot;. Uh, hello???? When was I, the customer, to be notified of any of this??? I am deeply, deeply concerned and very upset that this is how I find out. What if I needed service and called only to find out that I AM NOT COVERED??? After several calls to AIRTRON to try and find out any information, I am waiting a call back from someone supposedly in OKC, that doesn't answer their phone but gets email messages to call you back! If there are any other customers out there, you need to be very concerned about this new company, AIRTRON. I would be surprised if I got a callback today. Since I am not and quot;coveredand quot; anymore, I probably need to look around at other companies in OKC to service my machine. This company apparently expects people to just pay their invoice - and what services am I receiving in return? If you were in my shoes, you would be very concerned and upset at how AIRTRON does business...So far, very poorly.

They were okay. They were good. I have no complaints. They were very efficient and they cleaned up everything. They explained everything so that I could understand what the problem was and what they did about it. So, I appreciated that. They were very polite. They said they would be here at a certain time, and sure enough, they came exactly like they said. So, I liked that promptness. I would recommend them because they explain everything and they clean up after themselves. They were very courteous and polite. I have no complaints and would use them again. They were very helpful too. The price was very reasonable. I know I was very pleased with them because it wasn't that expensive. It was up in the attic so I couldn't really see but they explained everything and then I didn't have any other problems. I really liked them and I would definitely use them again.

It went very well. Mark Elkins was very polite, professional, and knowledgable. Brandon and Shelby were the two gentleman who came out to install the unit. They did a great job. Mark came out to followup and make sure it was installed correctly. I have never had a better experience.

The technician (Tommy) was 1:15 hr early, he called first to confirm that coming eariler was OK. He quickly diagnosed the problem, had the part in his truck and found the part was under warranty, total cost was labor. I am enrolled in their Comfort Club which has a reduced rate and priority scheduling as well as scheduled annual heating (1) and cooling (1) system tune-up, cleaning, rejuvenation and safety check. I am very pleased with this company's level of professionalism, service and employees, from the office staff to the on-site technicians. In short, I highly recommend them to others.

Preventive maintenance performed. I highly suggest that when you call, ask for the phone number to the office here in OKC. I did have some problems previously with an and quot;out-of-townand quot; answering system they have until I got the local number where I can talk to someone who is here and knows what is going on. The last gentleman that was here to perform my preventive maintenance was very friendly and professional. Overall, I am satisfied with their service.

Have a rental property where the a/c system stopped working. Called One Hour and they promptly came out. I received a call from the technician advising me that the system was low on freon and might have leak. Was advised he could fill the system and not repair the problem for $300 or he could find the problem and resolve it for $1000. I immediately advised him that we would be going with someone else since his $1000 price was ridiculous. I called an alternate local and licensed vendor who came out and resolved the problem for $156 (compressor problem) while 1-Hour is still trying to collect their $89 service call for telling me it would cost $1000 to resolve. Do not recommend calling them, unless you're willing to pay 2-3 times the market rate for repairs. I have called them once before and they charged me $500 to replace a fan motor ... I'm still thinking I paid way too much, but didn't complain since it was my first time having that issue repaired.

This is the first time I have had to pay for a service call for the air conditioner because I bought my air conditioner from them. I had free service for 3 years and it was a really good deal. I had them come out because it wasn't heating and cooling the way I liked it. They re-serviced it. They are good. I would continue to use them again in the future.

Our AC quit working, I called One Hour thinking and quot;hey they will be out in one hourand quot; they boast about having all the parts needed to basically make a new unit in the trucks. They couldnt make it out till Friday, I called on a Tuesday (so much for one hour) when the guys got out there they spent 5 mins looking it and said the whole unit needed replaced (which I think they came up with that answer solely based on age of the unit.)

not satisfied with that answer I called Interstate Heat and Air, they had a person out the next day, replaced the capacitor and motor (something about a ball bearing causing to lock up) While yes they recomended it needed replaced in the next 1-2 years, they got up and running.

There was some mix-up to start off with. We called and made an appointment, but the appointment was not confirmed so we were not on the list the day we expected them. We were not told we had to confirm the appointment, but suggest you do.

After some conversation with the manager, the tech came out late that afternoon. He was competent, thorough, professional and very pleasant. We had paid TWO different companies to come out, and both charged us the same amount as One Hour, but didn't get the job done. But this young man did and we would recommend One Hour because of his good work, and the manger's wllingness to go that extra mile to keep his customer happy.

We didn't spend anything because we are on their maintenance plan and our unit still had warranty on it. They are always very reliable and prompt. They are always very polite. They did everything that they said they were going to do. They were very professional. We will definitely continue to use them.

I was not satisfied with the quality of workmanship with the new ducting for several reasons. 1. The ducts coming out of the plenum were squished against one another, choking off air flow. 2. The straps from which the ducts hung cut deeply into the ducts, significantly cutting off air flow. 3. The ducts did not travel directly from the plenum to the outlets but bowed significantly with excessive slack. 4. The ducts were not sealed to the plenum. I called the office manager, Tommy, to express my dissatisfaction with the workmanship. He sent installers out to reinspect it (while taking many photos). Both the installers and Tommy assured me the ducts were installed correctly. I knew that I was not getting air flow from all my ducts but I did not know why. I contracted with an insulation company to reinsulate my attic. After inspecting my attic, they informed me that, in addition to my above concerns being valid, the ducts had not been installed correctly. Instead of connecting from the plenum to a Y intersection where it would branch out to two outlets, a large diameter duct connected directly from the plenum to one outlet with a smaller diameter duct branching off backwards from that larger duct to a second outlet, which explained why I was getting tremendous air flow from some outlets and none from others. The ducting was arranged this way twice, affecting four outlets. The insulation contractor informed me that whoever installed my ducts did not know what they were doing and that it had to be fixed before they could reinsulate my attic. When I explained that One Hour manager, Tommy, viewed his installer's photos and insisted that the ducts were installed correctly, he offered to speak to Tommy in person. After meeting with Tommy, Tommy stated to him that he would call me to schedule a time to fix the problems. I waited over a month to hear from Tommy without hearing from him. I finally called him and scheduled a time for the installers to redo the ductwork. The lead installer who came out told me he was embarrassed by the work the original installers had done and that they were no longer with the company. He reworked the ducts to address my concerns but he refused to seal the ducts to the outlets because he said that was existing work. Maybe so but that metal to metal still leaks air and it would have gone a long way to show that One Hour wanted to do everything it could to make it up to a customer after delivering such shoddy work. I had to pay the insulation company to seal the ducts to the outlets. What really bothers me is that both the installers and the manager, Tommy, repeatedly insisted that the work done was properly performed and correct. It was only after another professional addressed Tommy face to face with photos of the deficient craftsmanship that he acknowledged it. Then, after waiting more that a reasonable length of time for the One Hour manager to call me, I had to call him to force correction of the deficient workmanship. In addition to this, when a One Hour inspector came by for the winter inspection, he informed me that something to do with the heating vents (or pipes?) were too small. This was One Hour's own man telling me this but, of course, Tommy insisted that they were within code. Another thing - during the worst of a cold spell our brand new One Hour furnace broke down leaving us without ANY heat overnight when temperatures dropped to below zero. A brand new heater breaking down when you need it most!? This is quality? I have totally lost faith in One Hour management to be honest and to deliver quality workmanship without being forced. I would never recommend One Hour to anyone. I regret ever having done business with One Hour.
