ADT Security Services

We had a small number of weather-related false alarms over several years and thankfully, never experienced a break-in attempt. We did contact their toll free number (from the national website) once with a technical question about bypassing a bad relay and they were completely unhelpful. But when we sold the house, ADT was almost completely unresponsive. They took over 2 weeks to notice that the phone line was disconnected and then refused to stop service/billing via their website or by phone. They required a letter via snail mail. That, plus a "30 day rule" earned them an extra month's revenue during which time they provided nothing, but leg work for us. Ultimately a phone agent, while not able to confirm receipt of correspondence, credited the disputed amount.

Both reps were courteous and professional. They offered suggestions as well as answered all our questions. One of our neighbors was so impressed that they came over to sign up for the exact system. The reps had it installed on their house the same day.

The installation went very well. I am very pleased with the way the system worked. The technician that came out was perfect and was extremely friendly and helpful during the process.

Good experience. Techs knew what they were doing. Punctual and professional.  Costs a little more than I thought but I am very satisfied with my system and with the experience.

They installed our security system, and with in our security system is of course the security system. The smoke alarm, carbon monoxide, and our system are monitored. We have a couple of little cameras, but no window cameras. Just interior little cameras around that we could use if we want too or not. We would use them again in the future.

If you call, you can get a person on the phone, but I have only had to call a few times, and when I did they have always been extremely helpful, they do a great job.

I have used several different companies and they are the best that I like. They are the only ones that have the crystal net wireless system if your phone goes down then they will call you and make sure that somebody hasn’t cut your phone line plus they can send the signal wirelessly through this power. I liked the capability which is nice. They have always come out whenever anytime I had issues like lines just gone bad or whatever.

I think they are very good.

The control panel was free. We have been very happy with them. We've used them for 10 years. We haven't ever had any problems with them.

They did not code my account as a USAA member, which I was, and they gave someone else priority over me leaving my installation incomplete. They also made the decision that my deck door should not be one that I use after I arm the alarm system. I didn't use my deck door for several months because every time I used the door to get to my car, it would set the alarm off. I called them about the problem and they would not make it good without charging me a service fee. Their billing system is cumbersome; they wanted me to sign up for automatic billing but then refused to send me a hard copy bill. I don't even use the alarm any more because it makes me so angry. I am upset that the installer made an independent decision about my door without verifying it with me. I will never use them again.

It has been several years that I have actually installed any equipment and has probably close to 5 years.  My alarm is hooked up to their service.  I pay about $ 350 a year.  I am satisfied with them otherwise I would have changed I guess.  I would recommend them to others and I have had great service from them and there are no problems.

We like that they have the online system where you can function everything from your smart phone. We like that it is a nationwide company and it is 24/7. The installer was telling my wife stories about how alarm installers had used their knowledge to break in. He was telling her not very reassuring stories. He did install everything just fine.

I have used ADT for several years. They do a good job.

They bought out Brink's. I had Brink's for years. I just followed my service with ADT. I have not been unhappy enough to pursue another provider. They have been okay. The guy that came out was great.

I have found ADT to use deceptive marketing practices. Their customer service department and 800 call in support is both unresponsive and unprofessional. The people I have interacted with are rude and arrogant. I would NEVER use ADT again for any security system or monitoring.

I had a basic security system installed and has been working fine till date. I was satisfied with their services and will use the same in future.

They are professional and I would recommend them to others.

One month after installation, alarm sounded at 3am. Sensor had been installed improperly and fell off sliding door. Three more alarm events--all during electrical storms. Police came each time and we met them there usually in middle of night. Many reasons given for problem--leaky roof (it was brand new), faulty wire (they said it wasn't their fault). The last time, they said they didn't know what the problem was and couldn't fix. We called to have system removed and contract canceled. They said the system was working--going off and notifying them (just not appropriately but they don't think that's a problem). They said to cancel would cost us $1500. We retained an outside expert to evaluate and were told that the system was most likely a "lemon." We are exploring other options with our attorney. Don't buy the satellite-based system---they don't stand behind it. We can't set the alarm when we go out of town because if there is an electrical storm, it will go off. So we have stopped setting it. If we don't pursue legal action, we will cancel the first moment it becomes economically feasible to do so. We have a three-year contract and just received a letter saying that they were raising the monthly fee!

I was with ADT in California and I am still with them in Oklahoma City. They are just a great company. They charge me fair rates and their services are most excellent and impressive constantly.

The install was free but the heat sensor install that we wanted was extra. We did have to call Brinks Home Security back after noticing that one window was left unwired. Otherwise we were still pleased with the results.

ADT Security Services did a good job. The installer was a little different, but I have no complaints about them. I paid for the equipment and they installed it. Now I just pay a monthly fee for the service.
