I have several very old home movie reels that we discovered after my Grandmother passed away. These are very old from the 50's & 60's, and a few of them looked to be in terrible condition. My Mother wasn't sure what they may contain. I decided to take a gamble. I had seen a place in Newcastle that advertised Home Movies to DVD. But these were so old and tattered that I wasn't sure if anything could be done with them. So I took them to Pro Film & Video and the gentleman there assessed the condition, and felt that they could be saved. So I left them with instructions to call me with the status of the film, before proceeding. About 3 days later, they called with an update. He said there was a small amount (about 3 Feet) of the film that was too far gone, but the rest of it has been repaired, cleaned, and lubricated, and is in good shape now. I was almost affraid to ask the cost so far. But I did, and about fell out of my chair!! He said everything he's done to get the film in the present condition is included in their $20.00 setup fee. And it also includes the DVD disc. I was very impressed! Of course I told him to proceed with the work, and call me when it's ready. About 10 - 12 day later they called to say it's ready. I couldn't wait to see what was on the DVD. I was so delighted! As it turns out some of the film was of my Parents when they were younger. And to see my Grandparents on their farm, and many relatives that have since passed on. Pro Film & Video was able to bring out the picture quality, and color with their computers, That really makes it so much more enjoyable to watch. When my Mother saw the movies she was especially touched. We lost my Father a few years ago. So to relive these memories are priceless. It means so much to have this Family Treasure restored and back in our lives to share with a whole new generation within our Family. Thank You Pro Film & Video!
