Acme-Reese Air Conditioning

Noticed it was a problem for the electrician and did not try to do it on their own. Also, would come back with no charge as soon as the electrician fixed the problem, with further ado.

Acme-reese had good ratings for our area so I called them hoping it was something simple and not too expensive. It wasn't. However, I've been thoroughly pleased with everybody at Acme-reese. The Technician, Doc, called and scheduled when he would arrive. And he actually arrived at the scheduled time. He was quick to diagnose the problem and called right away with the news. He explained our options and arranged to call back with an estimate of the repairs. He followed up as promised and scheduled the work to be completed the following week. However, an opening came up in their busy summer season so he called back to see if we would be available to start the work earlier. I've worked with many contractors and can't remember that happening before. All went well and ahead of schedule but early the next morning after the work was complete our entire evaporator unit froze into a block of ice. Early the next morning, Saturday, I called and got ahold of the answering service and left a message. I fully expected it to be Monday before I heard back but much to my delight another Technician, Jimmy called and said he was already in our area and would be over in 10 minutes. WOW! Now I'm even more impressed. It's not how companies behave when everything goes right as much as when something goes wrong that sets them apart. Acme-reese and all their people went above and beyond to respond to our initial call as well as our additional needs. They are superior in quality of service to any other service company I've dealt with in the past. I can buy the same products from several vendors but will never consider any other company for our a/c needs again because of the service.

They had to disassemble and remove the heater in order to get to the cooling coil drain pan and the broken connector. I had them come out and give me a quote for the work. They were able to come out within 2 hrs of my call. The repair man was able to assess the problem promptly. He also noted the age of my current heating unit and offered to give me a quote on a replacement unit. (I already knew it is coming to it useful life span) He left with measurements and returned within the hour with a quote for the proposed work as well as quote for a new heating unit and cooling coil. The quote was within those I expected, neither the highest or the lowest. We scheduled to have my work done at a time that was convienient for me, which was not an issue.

The did call the day before to confirm the crew would be on time the next day. They arrived, scoped out the job and started the work. The crew was very knowledgeable, personable and friendly. They explained what they needed to do in order to complete the job, guesstimated an approx amount of time to complete the work. The older gentleman also pointed out a couple of other potential issues.

They kept me informed when they left for lunch and again when they returned. They completed the work without problems. Before they reassembled the unit after repaing the platform, they had me come look at the work they had done. Again the older gentleman showed me the absolutely filthy cooling coils that was impairing the cooling efficiency of the unit. He and his assist. cleaned out the coils, cleaned up any mess they had made and reassembled the whole unit.

I did take advantage of one of the suggestions they had made and had them move the air filter to inside the house for much easier access. They did let me know it would be an additional fee for those parts prior to installation which was agreeable to me.

I will Definitely be using Acme-Reese again. They more than met my expectations. They were forthright, upfront, ontime, professional and honest with me at all times.

Our AC went out just after 5 PM during the record setting hot spell of 100+ temperatures, after a few calls to rude dispatchers at other companies who wouldn't get us help for at least four days, we got hold of Acme Reese. They sent out a technician who was here within an hour. He quickly diagnosed the problem, a bad capacitor, and had our AC running again in around 30 minutes.
