I have always had difficulty contacting the builder for warranty service. This is not the first time I have contacted them for warranty repairs. In the past when I attempted to contact them they almost always did not answer the phone and so I left a message never to receive a call back. I quickly learned to send them a registered letter so I would have proof they received my request. When I requested repairs that were not covered by the warranty they did not contact me to explain the repair was not covered leaving me to believe they were ignoring me. This happened several times which only aggravated the situation when they should have been professional and contacted me to explain. The latest service request was for leaks around the furnace flue and plumbing vent. After several weeks the warranty representative (from the warranty company, not Affinity Homes) contacted me about the repair status. I informed them that no one had been out to repair the roof vents. They contacted Affinity Homes who said someone had been out but they forgot to notify us. I am skeptical that a repair was performed because my wife was home the entire day they claimed they were here and she did not see anyone. While our house is beautiful and in general quality materials and workmanship, the warranty service and professionalism of the builder has been terrible. I can't tell if this is a result of poor management, professionalism or intentional neglect.
