Great. Hampton's kept me informed as to the schedule and, though he didn't get here until around 6 pm, that sort of thing happens. I was glad to see him after a few days without laundry. He scoped out my set up, fetched the roto-rooter machine, and got to work. Very pleasant and professional, with interesting stories to tell. Glad to have him.

We've had three interactions with this man. A couple of years ago I had problems with my pool and my warranty company sent him out. It took days for him to even call me. I eventually had to call him. He came later than his scheduled window and spoke down to me while he was here. He didn't have what he needed so I had to reschedule with him. Again he was so behind of the scheduled window, I couldn't even be home when he came. I left the gate unlocked.
Over the course of the past year some of my pipes have begun leaking, and after this past winter they started leaking much more. Again I called my warranty company and they sent this man out. Again he came much later than his window. He was supposed to be here between 1 and 6 pm. I realize things happen but surely he could come within a 5 hour window. He didn't come until after 7. My husband had to stay home and wait for him while the rest of us went to a basketball game we had tickets for.
Anyhow, he told my husband several things were wrong and one of them was that the gauge had froze and busted. We run our pool all winter and have a thermostat that kicks on when the temp drops, so it shouldn't have frozen. Even if it had, it was through no fault of our own. We found out from our warranty company today that he told them everything that was wrong with our pool was our fault because it froze. Now the company won't pay for it. I feel as though he took his copay and ran. He was rude when I met him before and now he's made it so we can't get our pool fixed. I wouldn't have recommended him after the last interaction I had with him and now I even more firmly believe you should avoid him at all costs.

"I had been at this customer's home through another home warranty company for the swimming pool and a water heater several years before. The home warrany company at that time authorized some of the necessary repairs for the pool but not all. Although they were willing to authorize replacing the water heater, there were some costs not covered by their policy and the home owner was unwilling to pay for those costs ie: required city permit and inspection, etc. Therefore, the home warranty company couldn't authorize us to replace the water heater, not "some pipes" as stated by customer above. As for taking days to call the customer, we are required by all home warranty companies to make an attempt to contact home owners within 4 hours of receiving their work order and to be on the job site within 48 hours of receiving their call or if they are not available in the 48 hour window, then at customer's convenience. After leaving messages for the customer, it is up to them to call me back to be put on the schedule. We try to call several times and leave messages to let them know that we have received their work order, but we can't make them call us back. I do not give appointment times because of not knowing how long each call will take until I find out what the exact problem is at each address. Unfortunately, when some calls end up taking a lot longer than expected, it throws my entire schedule behind. That is something that is out of my control. We never want to leave a customer's home until the repair is complete if possible, especially if that means they would be left without service. I did not speak down to the customer. I did however remind him that I had already submitted this same item to another home warranty company back in 2011 and it was declined. Most warranty companies do not cover the type of repairs that he needed. He was on a check and advise status with this new warranty company. I had the necessary parts on my truck but because of his check and advise status, I had to wait for authorization from the warranty company before doing any type of work. Typically, most home warranty companies will deny coverage for any pre-existing problems, especially at the begining of a new policy. One of the questions the home warranty company asks us is, " Do you believe that this failure occurred since the beginning of their policy which was only a few weeks old?" I have to be honest with them and tell them that I had already been out there in 2011 for the same problem through another home warranty company. It was obvious that those repairs were never made and this was the outcome. This customer is most likey upset after he tried to sway me in such a manner that my findings reported to the home warranty company would cause them to cover the repairs. I will not committ insurance fraud to please customers!!! The customer is clearly upset at the wrong company! We aren't the ones who denied coverage. In 2011, we offered them a retail bid to make the necessary repairs not covered by their warranty company. The home owner declined our offer. We, again, in 2014, offered to make those same repairs and again the home owners declined. We are willing to do the work if they are willing to pay for them. As far as the $45.00 in question. That is the trade call fee we are required to collect at the initial visit by the home warranty company that sent us out."

He is always nice. He has a big truck and quite a bunch of stuff so he does not have to leave and come back. He does not waste time, he does not have to have a helper and is always pleasant. The price is reasonable. He comes when he says he will be there.

This company did a great job and they were pleasant to deal with. They did everything they said they would, and they are honest people.

Horrible. James originally came to my house to replace a hot water tank through a home warranty company. I was very pleased with his work, so I called him for an estimate for running the gas line to a new generator. His estimate was strange compared to the others I had received, it was "somewhere between $500 and $1500." The other estimates ranged from $500 - $1000 but were specific dollar amounts. I liked James and wanted to use him, which in hindsight was one of the worst decisions I have EVER made. So, I simply asked that if it got over $500 to please let me know and we would re-evaluate at that time. Time estimates from all other plumbers ... before and after this fiasco ... were from 1-3 days depending on timeliness of city inspections. It took James well over 2 months to FINALLY halfway complete the job (job was actually never completed by James ... meaning he never repaired all the damage he did to my property.) He never arrived during regular business hours and rarely let us know when he would be there. After getting extremely frustrated due to no return calls or info on where we were moneywise ... James showed up at 9pm one evening unannounced to "work" and it was the straw that broke the camels back for me. No phone call or anything and I was in bed because I had to be at work at 4am the next day. I requested a bill ... I wanted to know exactly where we were because it had been entirely too long and I was completely in the dark regarding the job. All I knew was that it was not complete, my sprinkler system was in shambles and I had not heard from him. I still did not get a return call, I got a bill for $1500 in the mail. I called and called ... no answer and no return call. So, I wrote a letter and mailed him a check for $700, I asked him to contact me so we could discuss our issues. He never called. He went down and filed against me in small claims court! I contacted an attorney with all the info and the pictures I had taken with time stamps and dates. I explained that I knew I owed him, but that I did not believe I owed him $1500! My attorney was convinced that I would NOT have to pay James $1500, so I decided to just go to court. Then my attorney brought to my attention that because I did indeed owe James ... which I never said that I didn't ... that even if the end result was a "judgement" for say $500 ... that it would show up on my credit report as a "judgement" and would negatively impact my credit. I was furious. James has obviously done this to more people than just me because he knew how to screw his customers. I would steer clear of James Hampton, he is not an honest person.

"I gave her an Estimate of $1500, telling her that it could be more depending on possible unforeseen problems with her existing gas on her home since it was built in 1963. The current gas meter that she had was capable of only 225,000 BTU's which her home was currently using. The whole house generator required 200,000 BTU's itself. The pool heater was an additional 400,000 BTU's. I had to make numerous modifications and corrections to her existing system in order to get approval from the City of Tulsa and the gas company. City of Tulsa and the gas co. approved all the work. When work was completed and generator was working, I made continuous attempts to get paid for the work but phone calls went unanswered so I stopped by to collect around 7:30 pm to no avail. When it became obvious that this customer had no intention of paying for work completed, I turned it over for collections as any company would do. The bottom line: She knew the estimate of $1500 and understood it could be more. The work turned out to be $1500 even with additional work done that wasn't included in the estimate. It was completed, passed inspection by the City of Tulsa and the gas company and working. This customer dodged me when it came time to pay until collections got involved!"

My fairly new garbage disposal quit working and on 6/3/2010 I called the local plumber who installed it. He never called and when I called him he said he would come out on 6/07. I called him when he didn't come and after several more calls, someone came out on 6/15/09 and said they couldn't fix it. I finally got tired of calling the original plumber and instead I called Hampton's Plumbing Services and spoke to James Hampton. He was very helpful over the phone and he came out on 6/19 and within 30 seconds, determined that the wall switch was faulty. The disposal worked fine and has worked fine since. I'm pretty sure the first plumber would have charged me for a brand new disposal had they followed through with their promises. To top it off, when I asked James Hampton what I owed him for his service call, he replied "Nothing". It's great to find someone who is honest, fair and knows how to provide such good customer service. He's also got an excellent rating by BBB. If you need plumbing assistance, I would recommend you call Hampton's first.
