Providential Services

I hired Providential Services to work on a heat and air unit. It is a large unit like the ones typically found in motel rooms. Trying to get my unit back in service was an 8-month long nightmare. Patrick Sutton, the repairman told me I had a bad circuit board. I paid about $300 for a new board. A couple of weeks later he installed the board. The heat worked, but he couldn’t check the air because it was December and too cold. The following May I called to have him check the AC, it wasn’t cooling properly and I was not able to adjust the temperature. I started trying to get him to look at it May 5, I called many times. He always said he would come out soon. He stood me up June 8. It was the first of several standups. I called several more times. He finally showed up June 27 and told me I need a new unit. He ordered it right away. Trying to get him to pick it up and install it was impossible. I called him 12 times. He stood me up 3 more times. July 28 he suggested I pick up the unit myself. I didn’t think that was practical. I was told by the supplier that the unit weighs about 120 pounds. I only weigh 130 pounds and I don’t have a vehicle it would fit in. A few days later a friend offered to help me pick up the unit. It took 4 more phone calls to get the information on where I needed to go because Patrick couldn’t remember who he ordered it from and he kept putting off looking it up. August 6 we picked up the unit. Patrick said he was too busy to install it, maybe next week. After several more calls it was obvious, he was never going to have the time. I ended up hiring someone else to move it to where it needed to go and install it. I found it very frustrating trying to get the job completed by Providential Services. I just don’t have the time for 26 phone calls, 4 stand ups and having to make other arrangements to complete a job requiring about 1 ½ hours of work.
