Bathtub Restoration, Ceramic Tile Service
$950
The technician destroyed my brand new hardwood floors by overspraying and not properly ventilating. This cost me $1000 to refinish plus moving/hotel costs. Bathbrite is not willing to stand behind its work. It's only been 2 weeks since the work was performed and the tile they painted is already chipping, the tub is dull and uneven. A horrible mess and a horrible customer experience. I do not recommend that anyone ever use this company.
Response from Bathbrite
"The hardwood floors in question were not “destroyed” as the customer suggests, but rather had a fine film of overspray on 1 room and a hallway. Our technician along with a floor technician cleaned the floors in one room but the customer claimed he could still see areas of overspray (although neither tech could see anything) and did not allow them to clean any more. Our tech told the customer that the owner would want to personally see the situation the next morning and the customer agreed. However, my calls/messages to both phone numbers for the customer that same afternoon were unanswered. Early the next morning I contacted the customer to make arrangements to personally come see the reported problem. It was then that I was informed by the customer that he already had his floor contractor begin the work. Again, I was never given an opportunity to personally see the problem or get another floor company opinion. The floor tech that did see the floors claimed that even if the floors were not cleanable, the cost to redo them typically would run between $350-$400, not $1000. Then the next day, the customer emailed our office claiming problems with our workmanship and that they now expected BathBrite to pay them to have another company redo our work. In the same email the customer informed me that they were also stopping payment on their check for the work we did. Again, BathBrite was not given an opportunity to investigate their claims prior to stopping payment. BathBrite is more than willing to stand behind our work provided we have been paid for that work. I informed the customer (via letter) that we would not honor any warranty claims without full payment for the work we performed."

From the time I contacted Mr. Treitch until the job was finished, it went well. The quote I received was very reasonable, and Mr. Treitch gave me great instructions on just when in the remodeling process to have the tub resurfaced. When I called to actually schedule the job, they worked with my schedule. The technician arrived on time, went right to work, and did a great job. I feel bad that I didn't take "before and after" pictures. The tub was really dull, and the previous home owner had tried to use appliance paint on the chips. Not good. After Bathbrite resurfaced the tub, it looked like new. I don't hesitate to recommend this company, and have in fact, recommended that my sister call them for some work in her new home.

We got several quotes from the various refinishing companies as well as the big liner companies. After being sticker shocked by the bathroom refinishing companies, we decided to go with the refinishing route. By far, this met our budget and the tubs look brand new! One thing about this process versus other refinishers, they used a very low odor, proprietary product during this process which was left on the premises within 12-20 hours and it only took a fraction of the time to cure. Other processes seem to take over 76 hours to cure and very strong odor is left. The only reason why the punctuality rating is so low is that the technician showed up 3 hours late and didn't bother to call until he was over 2 hours late. Not a huge deal but this could be improved upon in the future.
