Planting beds have no weed barrier. Hollytree advised the mulch would prevent any grass or weed growth. Wrong! Bermuda already spreading into beds, weeds growing through mulch and thriving better than plantings. Two trees planted within beds uprooted the first night, owner advised Hollytree immediately, Hollytree waited nearly full week before returning to job to replant trees. Trees now weak, not surviving, must be replaced per discussion with Kim Robinson.
Hollytree's heavy trucks & equipment heavily damaged existing drive and parking areas, Mark Robinson refuses to repair.
Uneven lawn needs to be smoothed and grading repaired to remove ponding areas and provide proper drainage, Mark refuses. More topsoil needed in many areas, apparently Mark's estimate of 60 cu yds needed was grossly inadequate. Mathematically, 4" topsoil over 14,700 sq ft would require over 180 cu yds if smooth, more to fill in uneven surface!
Hollytree claims contract work complete with invoice for more than contract amount on 5/8/2013. Unsigned memo from Hollytree on 5/20/2013 advises payment is delinquent, though acknowledging incomplete contract work. Further work refused until additional payment received, contrary to contract terms. All payments per contract are made, with final payment due upon full completion of contract. Contract is incomplete, notwithstanding the poor quality of work thus provided not being acceptable. Soil sample test results not reported, fertilization not provided, plants incomplete per photoshopped pictures provided by Kim Robinson.
Hollytree has retained an attorney as "debt collector", however said attorney is not interested in confirming validity of debt, only recognizing debt as claimed and invoiced by Hollytree.
I have filed a formal complaint against Hollytree through Better Business Bureau. BBB confirmed and filed complaint against Hollytree, who did not respond to BBB. A second complaint was issued to Hollytree by BBB, that was also ignored with no response. BBB has now rated Hollytree as "F" due to lack of response and reported poor business activities.
Following BBB's attempt to assist without response, I have retained an attorney (1) to defend the debt collection action, as well as (2) to initiate a Contract Performance demand to force Hollytree to perform according to their own prepared contract. Thus far such activity has resulted in no change by Hollytree.
Next I have prepared a formal consumer complaint form with included documents to file with the Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General for assistance. Those papers shall be mailed to the Attorney General's office in Oklahoma City tomorrow.
We must make repairs to our landscape to preserve what does exist, yet we do not wish to accept responsibility for what we sincerely believe to be the liabilty of "Hollytree Landscape and Garden Decor". We continue to take pictures of conditions present, for future reference as needed. The contract was signed 3/28/2013, Hollytree sent the inappropriate invoice to close the job on 5/8/2013, and refuse to provide remaining contracted work until they receive additional payment, not according to contract terms.
Prior to entering into contract with Hollytree, we knew of no unsatisfactory history of their work. Their attitude to ward us was extremely warm and very promising. As soon as the contract was signed, however, attitudes and expectations turned 180 degrees! Also, when friends and neighbors learned of our hiring of Hollytree, we started hearing numerous horror stories. We wish we had known a fraction of what we know now, before we signed. We can only recommend AGAINST Hollytree at this time.
