We were new to Tulsa when we purchased our house two months ago. Our realtor referred us to J Slusser for some repairs that needed to be made all around the exterior of the house based on the inspection report. J Slusser submitted a bid based on the inspection report and we accepted it. On the first day, J Slusser recommended that we use most of the materials that were purchased to repair one exterior wall that was damaged. This wall was also the easiest for him to access for repairs. We agreed, and he completed the repairs. I asked him to re-quote the job based on the substantially less expensive work that was completed. He immediately threatened to put a lien on the property unless I paid him the remaining cost from the original bid. I paid the full cost of the original bid, but I will never use this contractor again. Do not use J Slusser if you expect to be treated fairly or if you do not enjoy being threatened with a lien.

Jim was punctual and very professional. He gave me a bid and kept to the figure. He not only knocked out  the drop ceiling, but he filled nail holes, mudded the ceiling to make it smooth, then painted it. He did not hurry the job, but kept working until we were both pleased with the finished project. He does excellent work and I would definitely use him again.

Jim was punctual and very professional, which is what secured him the bid. He always informed us of next steps and if there was problem, he was diligent in addressing the problem. He was always willing to perform a job exactly as you'd request it, but would offer suggestions on things that would improve the projects overall look and in turn, increase the value of our home.

We noticed the paint on our cabinets began peeling mere days after the work was completed. We called and informed Jim of the problem. He promptly returned and corrected the issue. But the problem is recurring because the work was not done correctly the first time around. We believe that the cabinets, which required total refinishing, were not sanded, primed, painted with oil-based paint, or sealed after the cabinets were stained. Jim told my husband and I to handle the cabinets with care, but we can't even run a wet cloth against them or brush against them without the stain rubbing off. We have called Mr. Slusser repeatedly about the issue, but now he is dodging our calls and won't return text messages. My husband are very disappointed in his unwillingness to stand behind his warranted work.

I recommended Jim to another friend while he was working on our house. The friend who was also needing cabinet work done on her home eventually called Jim. Jim did he take her call (even though he's avoiding ours), and he informed her that he no longer performs cabinet refinishing/painting because of all the labor-intensive work that goes into it. I can't help but wonder if this is because we were his first "true" cabinet job and the job didn't pan out well. Now, he's turning customers down to avoid what happened with us happening to another.

My fear is that other customers have been like us--happy at the beginning, but then very unhappy when problems arise with Jim's work after it's completed. And then the frustration starts when customers are unable to reach him because of his unwillingness to return for jobs left incomplete.

Called Jim and he came up the next day.  Had repeated leak  around a window and bathroom exhaust fan when it rained.  Jim drove from Tulsa to Grove.  he checked the window and exhaust fan    A previous "handyman" had not sealed any of his work around the window, Jim fixed that.  The exhaust fan had been mis-installed, Jim fixed that.  No more leaks!

Did outstanding work.  Arrived on time, cleaned up at the end of each day.  Repaired siding around dining room bay windows.  Replaced skylight.  Recommend this company to all my friends.

Jim actually went shopping with me to help me select materials and choose colors. He performed the work during the day while I was at work and always cleaned up each day. Honestly, my kitchen was cleaner when he left than when he started! He hauled away the debris. When we had a problem with a warped sink purchased from Lowe's he hauled it back, made the clerks pull new sinks out onto the floor and meaured them with a level. Good thing because we discovered this warping flaw in the same models on the shelf! Saved me a lot of grief and I was able to choose a sink that actually worked better for my colors - a brown granite composite. I'm so happy with my new kitchen. Jim is the kind of person who does not cut corners. When I came home after he had finished the job, there was a beautiful plant on the island to welcome me to my new kitchen!
