I had a 16 year old system that was struggling to cool my house running nonstop during 95 plus days. Before calling Michael's I dealt with two other companies. The first one is not from Enid and I asked for him to try and put some life back in the system. After a couple of weeks of no improvement I called and asked him about replacing it and he said to call back in about a week. I called back in a week and was told the same this happened over and over 4 or 5 times until the end of the summer season of 12. March of the next year I call another company based in Enid to price a new system. He came by checked it out and told me I could just replace the A-coil but would give a price for it along with a new system within a week. After a week and a half I call and he tells me he will get the price figured in the next couple days. A week or two pass and I had a plumbing problem so I called them to see about fixing it and the repairman was sent the next day. A couple days later I go in to pay the bill and the boss tells me he hasn't forgotten about my A.C. and will get it priced pretty soon. I gave up on them and decided to call the guys with the cool purple vans.
When calling Michael's I was told they would come by check it out and get me a price. The next day one of them comes by checks it out followed by Michael coming by one or two days later to show me my price options. He told me the system would take a couple of days to get in and they would start on it as soon as possible. I figured by as soon a possible I would still be waiting a month before they could start but I finally had someone that wanted to do business. You pay so much upfront and the rest after but I can't remember which had the higher percentage. Five or six days after talking to him he called telling me they had my system and would start on it the next day.
The installer shows up and gets to work the next day. It took them about two and half days to remove the old and install the new with the interior unit being in the attic. Temps around the 90's in the afternoon but still being cool enough in the evening and night I was not concerned about time but wish I didn't wasted my time on the last company so it could have been done a month earlier. With the attic heat in the afternoon I don't feel they really put in full days so the install could have been cut down to 2 days but I was fine with that. I was in the attic the whole time with them watching and the heat was pretty bad. My part only involved the heat and not the work in a cramped space so only putting in around seven hours was fine by me. I believe after the second day they had it to were a could run my a.c. but had to come back the next day to complete it. By noon on the third day they were done and I was happy with service and new system.
Since the install two years ago I have had them come back to check the system and to repair a minor duct leak on duct that was installed by an unknown installer when the house was built. With each of these calls they arrived within a couple of days and it not being serious concerns was not a problem. I was still surprised they got to it as fast as they did with it being something minor and figured it wold be a week or two before they came by.
So now that I have the life story out there I will give some reasons for the ratings.
OVERALL - Well by the life story you can tell.
PRICE - There are two thing with price that I didn't like. First they offered prices on Trane which is one of the best but also comes with a price. Maybe I could have asked about other brands and they would have priced them to get a cheaper system but I wanted one of the best so I didn't ask about cheaper options. The one I chose was the highest priced option so going cheaper than my cheapest option which would be a lower quality brand wasn't something I wanted to do. Two people I told about Michael's had other brands at a cheaper price installed so I found out they do offer brands other than Trane.
The second part of price is I do wish they would have quoted me one or two models up from the model I chose which was their highest priced one. That may sound stupid but I believe the next model up I would have had a two stage system which would be more efficient and the price difference may have been small enough to be worth it. This isn't something I would blame Michael's for because for the most part people in Enid are cheap. Most seem to want to keep the almost dead alive which is part of the problem I had with the last companies. This is problem you will find with most business and not just heat and air in Enid, they want to do as little as possible which leads to poor quality. Poor quality is not something that you will get from Michael's.
QUALITY - Like I just said poor quality is not something you will get from Michael's.
RESPONSIVENESS - Couldn't be faster if you ask me and the people I have referred.
PUNCTUALITY - I met Michael, his three sons I believe, a non family member employee and talked to Michael's wife over the phone and all of them were very friendly. No question is to stupid to be asked and they will answer it. I have a little knowledge with heat and air from reading and asking others but sometimes like to ask just to see if it is correct or they feel the same and other times because I don't have a clue. With that being said some may not like the answer to the questions. If a question is asked they will explain it in great detail leaving nothing out. The question can have and answer that takes a couple of minutes to explain because they dumb it down as much as possible to the point a dog could understand.
PROFESSIONALISM - They got my new system going in 2.5 days, had great response time with everything I have called about and everything done at top notch. With the other companies I believe I would still be waiting 2 yrs later for the phone call. It doesn't get much better than than.
WOULD I USE THIS PROVIDER IN THE FUTURE? - Yes I have and I have referred family and friends that have had the same experience.
On to the final part which I feel is being judged or whatever you want to call it. I have called several home repair companies in the Enid area from heat and air, remodeling and roofers. The same response from all is we will get back with you in a couple of days or a week. With jobs under $500 there is no problem getting them done but most don't do what was asked for and involves a followup of what you wanted done. I am in my early 30's but look like I am in my early 20's and I feel that some of the companies like J.A. (whoops I wasn't supposed to type that) don't think I am capable of paying to something over $500. I try to pay all of my bills with these companies before I get my bill just so I don't have to deal with remembering to pay for it later. With that I was not judged on my age by Michael's and the work was done.

My overall experience with Michael's was very good. The technician was prompt, professional, and respectful. The price was fair and the service excellent.

The individual arrived, listened to the story. He checked out the furnace and discovered there was a fan not functioning properly. He worked on it and cleaned up. Everything was working correctly and took less than an hour.

I had them come out because I was having problems with cooling my house. The new unit did not cool my house. I tried to talk with them about it several times, but I was simply told to just put my central a/c unit on fan and let it run constantly. When I asked them to check my unit, I wanted a complete evaluation, not just an estimate for a new unit. I believe my duct work should have been checked and possibly sealed also. Since I couldn't ever get them to come back out and recheck it or explain to me why my house wouldn't cool below 85 degrees. I was stuck. There service sucked. All they wanted to do was sell me a new unit. Don't expect them to do service after they sell it to you. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

So I talk to Michel the owner to get a new unit and some duct work done and he quotes me a price of $6500.00. I agree to having the ducted work done for a $1000 that was only 3 ducts WOW!! Then before going through with the rest I found out from another heat and air guy in Arlansas that I was getting ripped off I got the same unit for $1650.00 and he charged me $600 to install it and that's driving from Ozark, Arkansas to Enid. Micheal I found out is really good with words to make a buck. Not only was he dishonest the duct work was cheap not near as good as the old stuff I have and they still make it.

Michael's was completely trustworthy at servicing our AC compressors each spring. Scott would show me if there was a problem before he corrected it so I could see the years of cat hair accumulated on the filter before he cleaned it, the filth coming out of the compressor when he cleaned it, the readings on his temperature guage to see how well our units were working. He even taught us how to keep our units from freezing in very hot weather by putting the fan on during the summer months so the unit would be less likely to freeze up. They are my #1 choice in Enid for servicing/maintaining AC units.

We had just recently purchased a home. While moving in, our air conditioning unit went out. Our home had a home warranty that required a group from Oklahoma City to come up. They were a no show three times so we called Michael's. They came out within the hour and were phenomenal. They also informed me on some of the regulations air conditioning units had to abide by. They were super sweet and explained exactly what had happened. I definitely will be leaving their number pinned on my cork board!

When we discovered we had a problem with our unit, we contacted Michael's because they have serviced our system in the past. Since our central HVAC unit was originally installed in 1979, we decided to ask them for a quote for a new dual-fuel heat pump system. Michael came to visit us and explained several options and gave us quotes for each of them. We then contacted several other companies and asked them to give us prices as well. Only one of the other companies actually submitted a quote, and it was not for what we asked for. We were very impressed with Michael's professionalism and the information he provided. We ultimately decided we should wait on the new system, and asked Michael's to go ahead and schedule a repair of our existing one. They responded promptly and took care of our problem. When we decide to install the new system, we will contact Michael's again. There will be no need to shop around. We know from experience who we want to deal with.
