I visited the salon and showed the stylist a picture of a hairstyle that I wanted. She said she could work with the cut and style that I showed her. I was only wanting a few inches cut off the ends of my hair. It truly was the worst hair cut I've ever had in my life. The crazy thing is, I'm usually very picky with who I let cut my hair and anyone who knows me knows that my hair is a big deal to me. I'm very open to change as I change my style about every six months or so but the hair cut I was given resembled nothing of the picture I provided the stylist and instead resembled that of a 70 year old woman. I am 35 years old. The crazy thing is I was silently thinking that in my head and then when I got home, my 5 year old tried to make me feel better by saying, "it's okay mommy, you just look like grandma." I was horrified. Honestly, it's my fault to begin with because I trusted someone I didn't know to cut my hair and I didn't wait on my stylist to return from vacation. I just took for granted that because the salon was in the Heritage Hills shopping center that it was a more prestigious salon. The stylist was very quick to get me in on last minute notice and that should've raised a red flag but I just wanted the ends off of my hair so bad that I jumped the gun and was happy to find the salon just a couple doors down from my regular stylist's shop, that is until the cut was finished, then I just stood there speechless. The one positive note I will leave you with is that the service was very friendly and it was easy to get an appointment. The sad thing is that a smile and a refund are not going to fix my hair. I didn't even want to pay but I did because I didn't know what else to do. The good thing is that it is hair and hair always grows back. I'm just going to have to wait it out and deal with it. I will definitely make sure my friends and family know about the experience.
