Description of Work: I had David and Rhonda Brookshire build my custom home. They charged me for a high end custom home but built a spec home. All fixtures, windows, doors, floors, counters, and finishes (wood trim, paint, etc) were the very lowest end materials. The wood trim throughout the home has rough surfaces (not sanded or sealed properly). I will no doubt have to replace all wood trim within 5-10 years. The paint is so thin you can see the sheetrock in every room. Their "landscaping" consists of only weeding turf - unless you are willing to pay significantly more for an upgrade that you already thought was included in your "custom home" price. If you do use Brookshire Homes make sure you know EXACTLY - down to the model/grade - of EVERYTHING you are putting in your home AND have it in writing in the contract before giving him any money. Don't expect to know of the cost of any "upgrades" or "changes" prior to them being installed. You will get a bill for the total of these charges toward the end of the build and will have to pay them before getting possession of your home. Don't think the multiple clauses in the contract that clearly state that all upgrades and change orders will be in writing will be upheld in the courts either. The courts favor the builder in this regard. Definitely spend the extra money to have your attorney "rewrite" Brookshire's standard contract. BEWARE!!!
