Someone recommended this company to me. Unfortunately, I did not do a fact based investigation before contracting with this company. My horror story went similar to the ones in previous reviews, but let me describe mine.
1. Contractor broke the water drainage pipe under the sink in the masterbathroom while removing the old countertop. He blamed it on my ex-husband, stating "he bumped into me". My ex-was no where in the vacinity. The contractor provided further damage by removing the countertop in the guest bathroom (we did not pay to have this countertop replaced). During this removal the water valves began leaking. He decided to leave the premises and allowing water to leak all over the bathroom floor.
2. Silex bought in two other contractors whose workmanship was very poor. Uneven cutting of granite against the backsplashes, leaving wide gaps between the wall and granite in some areas. Uneven matching of granite, granite ash left on countertops, exterior and interior surfaces of cabinets.
3. First of all you would think the production manager would come out and evaluate the job during and after completion, NOPE, haven't seen the guy. We have made many attempts to resolve the matter with the Edmond and Tulsa facilities, and guess what? We have only received lip service from both facilities. So, we are left with a plumbing bill, cleaning service bill, and a bill to fix the granite. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau and plan on legal action when time permits, I pray this company provide the OKC and surrounding areas a blessing by getting out of the business.
The only reason we realized they didn't do a template was when they called to reschedule AGAIN and asked where we wanted the seam. We said "at the bump-out" meaning where the support studs were. The guys said, "What bump-out?" So they scheduled another appointement to do the real template.
The day before it was to be installed, they called and said they had dropped the slab and broke it. They would reorder the granite and call me to look at it and make sure it was what we wanted. Today they called back and said they'd tried to order the new slab (to replace the one THEY broke) but the distributer was going to charge them more because it was a small order.
So our options was to pay $15 per foot more or get our deposit back. Of course we asked for our deposit back. What a goat show.
The only problem we had with the service was that they moved back the installation date a couple of different times. Perhaps this is just the nature of the business. It can be difficult to know how long jobs will take. However, when I consider the price that we paid and the quality of the work, I feel the inconvenience was worth it.
This company seemed pretty busy. This made me more comfortable paying 50% up front.
Worst company I have ever dealt with. They stood me up several times including the install date. Installation was sloppy at best. They forgot one piece in the kitchen.. Installed broken pieces in the bathroom with the marble and tried to hide it.
Did no finish work around the edges betwee the wall and counter or under the counters. I had to have someone come in and tile where they didn't finish, caulk all the unfinished edges. In the one bath with the broken marble they tore the wallpaper in several places and put a hole in the wall. To make matters worse they sent me a bill for the total due. The first half was paid at purchase date.Licensing
