Richey Construction

Picking this guy was a huge mistake! We went with him because during our meeting he was very professional, the photos of his work were impressive and he was a really nice guy. We were told it would take 6 weeks to finish our project but 6 months later he stopped communicating with us as we tried to get the work finished. Once the work started he became hard to get ahold of, he would not return calls, text or emails and would just show up to work whenever they wanted to. Sometimes we wouldn’t see anyone for weeks. I will give him that the concert slab turned out great however they drilled holes to place the pergola posts in the wrong place and although he said he could repair it he never did so we have several holes in our patio. They did a terrible job on out pool deck and all the painting/staining done at least what they didn’t just leave un-painted. The step doesn’t match the patio and a year later has started to crack and pull away from the patio, and the pergola cover leaks because they apparently had no idea how to install the polycarbonate roofing ( a fact he failed to share until it was being put down). They took the deck paint that I had already purchased when they left and wouldn’t bring it back. Needless to say we now have to pay someone else to fix/redo his poor workmanship. I have no idea how this man can keep his business going with such a lack of professionalism.

The absolute worst.

This man and any company he works with or for should be avoided at all costs. When we hired him the company he represented was icoat of Oklahmoa, he also is associated with procrete OKC, and who knows what other company name.
Not only was the work horrible, the top cracked so badly he came back to tile it. After about 6 months the top started to sink and tiles along the perimeter began to fall off. After so many calls that went unanswered we called in another company to fix the problem. They had to remove the grill and what was left of the top and totally reconstruct it as Richey had never put any underlying structure to hold the weight of materials used to finish the top of the island. We spent a little over $2600 to fix his sub par work.
We sued the contractor who hired Richey and won a settlement against both him and Richey, the award was split evenly between the two contractors. The original contractor lived up to his obligation and paid his half in full. That was June of 2013 and Richey has never paid a dime of this judgement.
AVOID HIM AND ANY COMPANY HE WORKS FOR!

The product was good, but I was disappointed that he was not very clean. He was not very attentive to cleaning detail and also kind of nicked up my dishwasher. There was a slight mark in the top, it was not anything that could hardly be seen. I just called him to ask him about whether there was anything we could do about it or if there was any remedy. He returned my call once, but never showed up so I would not recommend him. The product looked good. His punctuality was good and he gave a good initial presentation.

My dealing with this company has been a disaster. I hired them to do driveway and sidewalk stamping. Josh Richey started the job and after doing the job for several days, I made him stop until he had a plan in mind. Nothing matched, the stain was running and drying like it was running off of the driveway. It was awful. The second owner, John, can out and we had to plaster over the driveway to cover up Josh's mistakes. John seemed to have a plan and the job looked good when completed. I had to pay extra to cover up Josh's mistakes. My driveway began chipping the next year :( I was given a 3 year warranty before I needed to seal and any maintanance. I called the company and reported the chipping. They said they'd get out to look at it. Never heard for them again, Called this Spring, said they come out, no response. this was a small problem last year that could have been taken care of. This year, it's a big problem with sections peeling off that are about 2 feet wide. I truly regret hiring this company. Customer service is huge and this company doesn't know anything about honoring your product. All it takes is a response at times. This company is not as good as it's word. I filed a complaint, among many others, with BBB. 
It's really sad because all of these issues could have been resolved with just a phone call. Dealing with a company that cares about it's reputation is really important and I truly learned how valuable that is from this company. I've wasted a lot of time and energy on this company just trying to get them to fix their product.
