Very disappointed in their refusal to come to Crescent even though they had been doing so for several years.

We use them basically every 6 months for the service agreement. There were 2 people. It took probably around 45 minutes or so. It was completely like they weren't even there.

They stand behind anything that they do. They are great, nice people. If you call, they will come right away. You do not have to call back. They do it all.

We like these people. They spring cleaned all the furnaces. They maintain and service the furnaces, twice a year. They are really good. They are on our list, we have used them for an long time, would not use anyone else.

I called to have someone come out and look at my AC unit.  The fan was running, but the compressor did not seem to be kicking in.  They sent Jason out the next day.  I explained to him what the problem was, and told him that I knew it was likely a faulty capacitor, but that I needed a professional to look at it and replace it.  I showed him which of the two units that I was talking about, and quickly located the bad part.  He replaced the part, and then spent awhile trimming up some of the wires attached to it, and fabricating a new mounting bracket.  It sure was nice to have a nice friendly professional do the work.  He was finished in about 20 minutes tops.  Although I spent $89.95 on a service call, I was glad to do it in order to get such a professional job.  Now I knew that he had to charge me for the part of course, and in my mind I was wondering how much that could be.  Being in the electronic maintenance field, I knew that capacitors were not pricey, but I figured that since it was on a service call, they might try to rip me off and charge something outrageous like $100.  I would be forced to pay, but this is the price that you pay for not being able to do it yourself.  When he presented the invoice to me however, I was completely blown over.  He was charging $172.  This was beyond outrageous!  Upon researching the part, I found that in the most expensive case I would pay around $30, although I could easily find one on the Internet for under $15 with free shipping!  I would have been happy to pay extra for they part, knowing the stockage and overhead involved, but even in the worst case scenario would I have ever thought that it could amount to over $100.  I asked what would have happened if I had the part on hand, or if a wire was just loose?  They explained that they cost would have just been the service call of $89.95.  Since this is the case, there are no other excuses for having such a high mark-up on a part.  I talked with Jeff on the phone today about this, but he was insistent that he routinely charges more than that for a capacitor, as does all of his competitors.  This statement from Jeff implies that the price was simply an arbitrary charge that they made up, and can charge whatever they want as long as they stay competitive.  He also insisted that they are honest.  Sorry Jeff, but "honest" to me means that you tell me the truth about your charges, and don't hide them in the cost of parts.  Since it's a well known fact that most compressor problems are with a bad capacitor, I will be ordering one online and keeping it on hand for the next time that I call SOMEONE ELSE to service my system.  This dishonest company does not deserve repeat customers.

The workers were professional and good. One guy came out to do the work and it took him a couple of hours to do it.

When we switched our heat pump over to cooling it didn't seem be working. I thought the heat pump wasn't reversing, because I thought it was working in the heating mode. We called a trusted neighbor and asked who does their heat and air. They said they used Minter and Sons. We called them to fix our heat pump. They scheduled us for mid-afternoon that day. That afternoon we were informed that the the tech is having trouble with the call ahead of ours and they are short handed and the owners were out of state attending to a funeral of a family member and that we were still on schedule for our service call. The tech arrived after hours that day and told us there is no no extra charge because were on the schedule for their normal hours. Will introduced himself and we went around to troubleshoot the Trane heat pump. After checking the motor start circuit and trying a new capacitor and relay he showed me that it was not the reversing valve, that the compressor motor was not coming on. We discussed the cost of fixing a 19 yr. old heat pump versus replacing it. I asked Will who does their sales. He said he could take care of it. The decision was made to replace the old system with a new higher efficiency air conditioner, evaporator coil, and heater. We were scheduled for the installation within the week. The office called first thing in the morning to tell us they were on their way. They worked through the day until the job was complete and all deficiencies in the old system were resolved. We are very happy with the overall experience and will recommend them to whom ever asks for heat and air.

Our experience with them went pretty good. Instead of telling us we needed a bunch of parts, they told us we just needed to change filters. I like them because they're a local company and they've been around a long time. It was on a weekend, but they took our call and came right on out.

They did well. I called in the morning, and even with the roads being bad, they were there by 12pm and the heater was fixed by 1pm.

We've been using Minter and Sons for years. They do the check up twice a year. The technician was friendly and told us everything that needed to be done.
