I ended up buying my outside lights at Lowes where I got complete customer service and all kinds of help and drove to Tulsa to Garbes where the staff is fantastic, it saved me so much money and had five times the fixtures to choose from'
This store needs a strong manager or a compelte new staff they have no idea that when you do not give the customer good customer service someone else will!
I do not know how they remain in business, over priced and pathetic in people skills!!!
Recently, we replaced a chandelier and a ceiling fan in our bath and bedroom. The chandelier had small loops on the arms to hang crystals from. One of these was bent to the point where the crystal couldn't be hung. The installer tried to bend it back with some needle-nosed pliers, easily breaking it. I figure I could fix it with a soldering iron, so I didn't complain. The ceiling fan, however, had a stripped screwhole in the motor housing where the fans are attached. This fan hangs from a 16-foot ceiling, so I can't do it myself (don't have a ladder that long). We reported it to Lifestyles, and they ordered a replacement. I took the broken fan in, met with the manager of the store, reminded her of our problems in the past, which cost us extra installation expense, and asked them to cover the cost of having the electrician come out to install the replacement.
"Joy", the manager of Lifestyles, stated that they will not pay for the electrician to come out the 2nd time to install the replacement fan. She states they "stand behind their products," but take no responsibility for installations. I told her that if they stand behind their products that we shouldn't have had to have to pay installers/electricians to come out twice in order to finally get a non-defective product installed. She got mad at me, threatened to walk away without resolving the issue. When I asked her if she knew what Angie's List was, she stopped and accused me of threatening to blackmail her. Reporting her and her store is not blackmail, when it is a true event that is reported.
I told "Joy" that I will not be revisiting her store, nor will the interior decorator that we are working with (whom works with a major homebuilder in this area--building high-$$ homes). As far as I'm concerned, Lifestyles sells nothing but overpriced, low-quality merchandise (that looks good externally), which they refuse to back up.
"LifeStyles is proud to be the only lighting showroom in the country to offer a lifetime warranty on EVERY lighting fixture and ceiling fan that we sell. Simply put, if there is a manufacturing defect in the product you purchased from LifeStyles, we will replace that item. Unfortunately, we cannot reimburse customers for the cost of installation or labor. After all, we did not make the product; we are simply a retailer of the product. Furthermore, we did not install the product and therefore cannot control the quality or the experience of the installer. In many cases the “quality” issues that occurred with this customer may be the result of inexperienced or careless installation technicians. The important point of this transaction was that LifeStyles stood behind the product by replacing it."
