I appreciate the integrity of the company and their willingness to work with their customers. I will use them again and recommend them to anyone.
Was told they would show up at 8 am & job would take 1 day. First work day, no show at 8 am & no call. Finally arrived after 10:15 & started work at 10:30 am. Stopped work & left after 4 hours at 2:30 pm.
Arrived after 9 am 2nd day. Worked till 3:30 pm. Left around 4:20 pm after we discussed changing some plans. One worker knocked down support for suspended HVAC unit in cellar. Didn't bother to put it back or tell me. I put it back & told supervisor about it. Asked him to warn his co-worker to watch what he was doing because he could have been injured; besides seriously damaging the HVAC system & ductwork.
They showed me scratches/gouge they made when installing one outlet. Said they would fix but didn't. Had expensive/fragile items covered with covers in one room for protection. Found their heavy tools laying on top of the covers. They also laid heavy, dirty saws & some equipment on furniture.
Instead of adding a new grounded outlet next to an existing ungrounded one as instructed, they used the ungrounded outlet. Asked me about it when I walked in to check on progress. (He already had it 75% done) So instead of having one grounded outlet & one ungrounded, I have only one outlet.
We agreed to install 4 less outlets & install a switch & light fixture, add a couple of GFCI outlets, & replace a fan light switch that I went & got. They lowered the price also. Installing less outlets kept them from crawling in dirt cellar & climbing ladders outside to run more conduit.
3rd & last day, sounded like WW3 as they rushed to finish. Heard loud boom & thought it was earthquake. One of them slammed the cellar door harder then I've ever heard it. Went down after they left & he had knocked down HVAC support post AGAIN! And didn't tell me of course.
New outlets in 2nd part of house were supposed to be run to new circuit at breaker box. Can't tell for sure but it looks like they just tied on to an existing circuit nearby instead of going all the way back to breaker box.
Both guys were nice. Said work meeting made them late first day. Other work reasons the next day. I told them they should call if they are going to be late & that we were told by office they would arrive at 8 am every day.
Don't hire unless you can watch them every second, you don't mind them taking shortcuts without asking or telling you, & you don't mind jobs taking 3 times as long as estimate.
A month earlier, in-laws had bathroom updated by unrelated company. 1 week job took a month as they went without a shower for 3 weeks. Is there no one who does work like back in the 50's/60's? When people took pride in their work & treated their customers like they wanted to be treated (or better)?
