Backwoods Roofing

Jeff Duncan came to my home in Denton, TX as did many roofing contractors after the severe hail storm in late April. He was very polite and not pushy as some contractors were. I informed him that I would not be doing anything until the storm season was over. He accepted that and did not bother me as we discussed and waited for me to call him. Jeff also gave me some good advice to discuss with the insurance company....That was my first clue that this gentleman understands what the homeowner wants. As we discussed, I contacted him after the storm season and he agreed to meet with me and the insurance adjuster. He visited with me at that time and let me know he would handle all issues with the insurance company if I wanted him to. He did the walk thorough with the adjuster and pointed out all damages caused by the hail storm that I normally would have missed. These were damage to screens, window glazing, damage to fascia boards, gutter damage, pool decking and yard ornaments. These were all pointed out to the adjuster. Since there was inside water damage from the leaking roof caused by the hail there was also paint and drywall issues to be resolved. Jeff did an outstanding job coordinating with me and the sub contractors and I am very pleased with the way everything has turned out. I would definitely use Backwoods Roofing again. My only suggestion for this company is to have your information available in the Keller/Denton/DFW arae so that you can be found on Angie's List in this area rather than having to find you in Oklahoma.

June 2012, Backwoods roofing was beyond what I expected. They helped me with my insurance, they did a absolute wonderful job on my roof. Jeff Duncan went far and beyond his call of duty for helping me with questions, calls and made sure the job was done on time and was happy with how they really make sure everything is cleaned up before they go. Just want to take a moment to recognize my recent experience that i had with Backwoods Roofing. My property was recently damaged from this springs hail storms.Roof, gutters, window screens, and garage door, had significant damage. A close friend of mine referred Backwoods Roofing to me and said that he had a professional experience with them the previous year. He forwarded a contact # and i called them immediately. I spoke to one of their salesman and we quickly arrange an appointment to meet me and assess my damage. Naturally, i had my share of anxiety about this process. You here so many horror stories about roofers and contractors these days but felt like things would be fine because he came so highly recommended. The day of our appointment the salesman showed up right on time and was very courteous and professional. He got on my roof and did a walk around of my home to assess my damage. He later came in and sat down with me to explain in detail my damage and how the insurance process would go. I had many questions and he answered all of them and seemed very knowledgeable about what he did and what to expect. He also offered to meet my insurance adjustor, the day of my inspection from State Farm. The roof, as well as many other items had extensive damage and Backwoods Roofing was able to accommodate me on all of my damage. Within two weeks the roof was completed and everything else shortly after. My wife and I have used numerous contractors for remodel jobs and landscaping work and we have never had the complete and thorough job that Backwoods Roofing offered us. They were professional, thorough, clean and their quality of work was superb. They walked me through the whole process and kept the lines of communication open at all times. There were no surprises and we will be using them again. Not only did we use them but a number of our neighbors did the same and reported the same experience. Its nice to know that there are quality contractors out there that still do take pride in their work and we should all do a better job of sharing our experiences. Thanks again Backwoods Roofing!!! Jeff kept in contact with me and made sure all the work was completed as promised. He scheduled the sub-contractors and made sure the dates and times would work with my schedule. He supervised the roof replacement and also some of the other sub-contractors work. Jeff was very professional and made sure all work was completed before collecting the amount due. He also stayed in contact with my insurance to help complete the paperwork needed by them. He contacted the homeowners association and made sure the correct paperwork was filled out to be able to make the repairs on my house. He was very helpful with my repairs of my house.

The only time the roofer kept an appointment was when he came out for an estimate and to pickup the check! Many times I was told he would get back with me, Nope. NO communication! Signed a contract to do the work and it wasn't till 5 months later that work was done. He didn't tell me that when he wanted a signature. The work hasn't leaked yet as far as I know. All around bad experience with them. Not recommended. Possible litigation considered.
