this is not an Edmond problem but aamco in general like I saw in another review, the person I talked to did everything he could to get me to bring the car in for evaluation, but would never give me a worst case scenario about replacing the transmission, my perception is that once the car was in their shop partially disassembled that they could charge what they wanted, this may not be the case but it sure appears that way from other reviews

First they ruined the axle, then they replaced it with the wrong part. The wrong part was too short which ended up ruining the gears in the rear differential. Their mistake cost me the original repairs of over $700, plus towing and over $3,000.00 in additional repairs to have the rear end rebuilt and the axle re-done. They refuse to accept their mistake.

Avoid AAMCO Transmissions of Edmond. These guys had a simple task to replace a rear seal on the axle of my pickup. They ended up ruining the axle and left blow torch marks on it. They offered to replace the axle at list price, so I called the parts store and found out it was $189, when I went to get my truck they wanted over $500 saying they could not eat all that free labor. When they did replace it, they put in a part that is too short, shown in photo. By not seating the axle deep enough, it ended up ruining the rear differential in my pickup. A $200 repair ended up costing me towing and over $3,000 in repairs. The regional manager has been contacted but they refuse to refund my money or any additional repairs.

Two visits across two weeks and over $470.00 later and still have the same results. Wants to rebuild the transmission for $2,000.00 minimum. Offered a $200.00 credit for their failed diagnostic attempts. Not sure why anyone would trust them to overhaul a transmission when they can't diagnose a problem. The car is six years old and has only 63K miles.

I bought some brake discs and pads online, and didn't really feel like doing the work myself. I had heard Aamco ads on the radio, and decided to give them a shot. I took my truck in at my appointed time of 8 am and they were late opening up that morning. I talked to the manager about how long it would take, and he said 2.5-3 hours, which is a fair amount of time. I called them around 3 that afternoon to see if they were finished, and they hadn't even started on it yet. They asked if I was okay with leaving it there overnight, and they would do it first the next day. I said yes, and they called me a little after noon the next day. I walked in to pay, and the bill was for 4.4 hours of labor ($484). I was outraged, because I know it doesn't take that long to do brakes. I could do it myself at home in 4-5 hours with no tools or lift. They refused to come down on the price, so I paid it and will never return. Do yourself a favor and take your vehicle elsewhere.

Horrible. Went to provider with a bad transmission. They rebuilt it and gave my vehicle back to me. I noticed an immediate vibration in drive train as well putting transmission in 2nd gear the shifter was "flopping back and forth". Took it back and they said it should "work itself out". Drove it for a week and still had the problem. They had to pull the transmission again and rebuild it. All the while I was paying for a rental car for the second time. I spoke with the owner "Tony" and he stated they do not pay for rental cars for warranty work. I tried to explain that it was never fixed correctly the first time so it was not warranty work. He just said no and never heard anything from him during this whole nightmare. The shifter shaking was fixed but the vibration is still horrible. Will NOT take it back to Aamco. I tried in good faith to give them the chance to make it right but they really could care less. Transaction is in mediation with ccard company. I would NEVER consider this franchise!!!

I called to get an estimate of what it would cost to rebuild the transmission for my van. The phone rang for an extended period of time before anyone picked up. When the phone was finally answered I told the gentleman what I needed and he said that I would need to speak to a manager and promptly got one on the phone. I then told the manager what I needed and he said that they would have to perform a free inspection to determine if that was what I really needed. I told him that the car wasn't running and that for the moment all I needed was an estimate so that my husband could decide who to use to do the repairs. The manager again said that he just couldn't give me any idea of what it would cost until he looked at it. He told me that they would tow it in at no cost if I had the repair work done with them. I asked well what happens if you tow it in and then your estimate to repair it happens to be out of my price range? Will you have it towed back to my house for free? I again stated that I just needed a ball park figure from them. He said that he just couldn't do it, that nobody would. I told him that I had already called two other places and had gotten estimates from them without any problem. He thought that was incredible and couldn't believe anyone would do that. I tried one more tact to get an estimate. I said, and quot; Okay, lets pretend that you towed my van in, did your inspection and determined that the transmission did indeed need to be rebuilt. What would you charge me for the rebuild?and quot; He stumbled around a bit and then went back to his script of needing to get the van in to be inspected. I finally said,and quot;So you are NOT going to give me any idea of what it might cost to have my transmission work done with AAMCOand quot;? He said no and I ended the conversation.
I then called the next guy on my list and got a third estimate in about 4 minutes.
I would never consider using AAMCO after this phone conversation and would tell others to watch out.

They fixed the problem finally. They diagnosed the problem correctly and recommended how it should be fixed and we proceeded from there. I've had others look at it and they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it.

Had clutch and other problems in my transmission. I took my car in and within a couple of hours had an estimate on the cost of repair. Decide to go ahead and have the work done. It was done exactly when they said

I brought my car from another shop that had it too long, and had Aamco rebuild the transmission. The found that the last shop had left many bolts and other necessary items missing, damaged, or loose. They had me come to the shop to take pictures of these things and alerted me to the extra costs this would attribute. They were very good about showing me everything, and I was able to attempt to recover parts from the last shop. The car was ready on time for me to pick up 2 weeks later. They let me test drive it and I spoke with the primary mechanic that worked on my car about the details of what was found along the way and that all the parts that were missing where replaced the way they should have been. They requested I come back in about 10 days to do a check up. I was able to return about 14 days later, they test drove it again, and checked the fluid level. It has been running great since!
