Bracken Foundation Repair

There was a raised bump the length of the house over the middle stem wall, caused by an added board. The board was added some 35 years ago in an attempt to self fix a settling issue. It ended up being the issue. We had the un-level floor problem evaluated by a structural engineer ($400), then called a Pier company. The Pier Company wanted to do a completely different fix which would run $14,000. They also threatened that if we didn't do what they said, we would be putting people at risk. Then they said they would do what the engineer recommended for $4,000. If there was any potential danger, they wouldn't have been willing to do that. In one visit, Brent Bracken was able to determine the source of the problem (not mentioned by the pier company), and able to fix it on the subsequent visit. He charged $1,200, and the house was more level than it would have been jacking up all the exterior walls. He removed the board, and made the cosmetic patches to the exterior foundation, as recommended by the structural engineer. I highly recommend Brent Bracken. He understands foundations and construction, and is fast and reasonable. He was able to determine exactly what needed to be done, did it quickly and well. He also does other repair/construction. He's a great find, and I trust and recommend him. I wish I had known about him in the beginning, as we would have been months and dollars ahead.
