 + -1 moreDonald was very thorough with his work. Our builder had their own inspectors plus they hired a third party inspector. He decided this was not enough and we hired Donald to look after our best interest. He made several good catches throughout the inspection process. At one point our constuction superintendent commented that one item Donald pointed out probably justified every penny that we were paying him.
Description of Work: Donald performed 4 separate inspections on our home during the construction process: 1 foundation (pre-pour), 2 framing, 3 mechanicals, 4 final inspection.

 + -1 moreThe furnace in this house was a big problem, and he gave me a lot of information about what should be done about it. Thanks to his very direct and clear assertions in the report, the sellers opted to get a certified HVAC inspector to inspect the furnace. The HVAC inspector backed up what Mark said, and the sellers are replacing the furnace. Mark's excellent inspection has already saved us thousands of dollars. The only negatives I have to say is they are the most expensive inspectors we found. However, we decided it was worth it, and we proved to be right. Also, the report didn't have as much detail in it as I expected from their samples. One or two things didn't make it into the report that I thought would. However, 99% of items were in the report with emphasis on the most important. Overall, the report was excellent, complete with color pictures of the important items. Overall, I give VIP an A. I was very pleased with then, and they have already saved me thousands of dollars.
Description of Work: We hired VIP Inspections to do a home inspection on a house we're buying. This is our first home so we did a lot of research on inspectors. We called several inspection companies and looked at many sample inspection reports and decided on VIP. They are very picky, which is exactly what I wanted since the house we are buying is 38 years old. We wanted it gone over with a fine tooth comb and that is what Mark, the associate inspector for VIP, did. He spent about 3 hours looking over it inside, outside, attic, crawl spaces, everything. He removed panels to inspect everything he could. He was thorough, and let me follow him all over as he did the inspection and let me ask questions the whole time. He was very good to let me know where his expertise ended, where a specialist inspector should be called in if I was concerned about certain items. Mark, the inspector, was very helpful in answering my questions, and he gave me a lot of information that is invaluable to me as a new home owner.

home inspection
 + -1 moreMark did an excellent job for us. We called on Saturday and was able to get him to come to the house on Monday. He was very punctual. We receive the report on Wednesday morning. Mark was very thorough and helpful in going through the house. The report was lengthy, concise and contained pictures with each deficiency. His report made it very easy to negotiate with the buyers.
